We will never be, we have hellcannons to prevent that happening.

Plus starcraft is for noobs and idiots, since it was a copy of 40k. Bastards....
I'ma gona stick ma halberd where the sun doesn't shine on all the people who were involved with starcraft.

That was the most nerdy comment ever. And Starcraft is awesome sir. It's inspired by 40K certainly, but what's 40K inspired by? Dozens of older works. Everything copies something that came before it and we can take all games like Halo, 40K, Starcraft, etc and ask. Where did Powered Armour come from? The Answer. Starship Troopers.

the're differences between taking inspiration from previous sources and shamelessly 'copy/paste'ing factions from one and then changing the name and appearance slightly

theBuzz Jun 18 2011, 7:08am replied:

Those arguments are very, very hollow. yes warhammer had INSPIRATION, but all of its lore, races and design is extremely original. i hate when people say "oh, 40k is just a copy of starship troopers." What a load of shite. How are 2 and a half meter genetically enchanced soldiers, clad in holy armor, similar to a couple of future rednecks clad in shards of plastic? Yes, some of warhammer was INSPIRED by the original books, but it is far removed and the link exists as a tiny thread. In the same way the design of tyranids is INSPIRED by alien, but the resemblance is very small. Again they have developed their own ideas to an original slant. All great fantasy or sci-fi works have inspiration from outer sources. The truly great create an original universe, brimming with originality. The bad ones blatanly rip off the great ones (*cough* starcraft).

Also, starcraft is a fun game, but a really lazy sci-fi universe.

They ain't got no Power Armor in Star Ship Troopers besides Warhammer 40k is before Starship troopers, I think.

They had power armor in the original novel. Something they couldn't put into the movies because of budgets.

And just like commandercody said: Starship Troopers far predates Warhammer 40k.

Yeah, it is. It came about in 1987, and starship troopers was released in 1997.

Actually, the Starship Troopers book first appeared in 1959...

Edit: And they have power armor in the book.
