Thank goodness that the Tau suck in melee.
Moddb.com
Here we see a group of fire warriors utterly dominating some space marines in melee combat.
In all their year of technological advancement and conquest. It's mine boggling that no Tau has ever considered making a shotgun version of any of their weaponry.
Because a shotgun is utterly useless against power armour?
Astartes Scouts use their own type that that use specialty ammunition for penetrating power armor. Yet Tau don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of making a liner motor shotgun.
or a fast firing short-barreled pulse rifle.
That might work too. If the Tau had any concept of strategy they would have put that on their stealth suits.
Or maybe even create a pseudo-shotgun type of pulse rifle, a short, quad-barreled pulse rifle that has quite abit of cooldown. I'm sure the Tau have enough brains to fix that problem instead of diverting it to the Kroot.
Speaking of the Kroot, why the hell don't THEY have shotguns?
Cause the Tau are not as clever as they think they are? Arrogance is one thing. Kroot don't have an excuse for not having proper close range weaponry. GW dropped the ball on that one.
That they did....and on several other things too. Well, they better take the entire universe in a new direction, or else the stagnation of the game state is only going to get worse like it is in the lore.
Or... maybe just arm some front-line squads with flamers even?
Really, the sensible choice would be a wide-nozzle version of the Fusion Gun, but any kind of template weapon really...
Like a Pulse Carbine?
