For everyone that likes Warhammer 40k Tabletop and Dawn of War Games or anything to do with Warhammer 40K.
Yesterday I was wandering aimlessly and look what I found. It was used in a movie from 2002 called 'Showtime'. It appears to be some sort of custom SAIGA-12 =) It may not be a 40k bolter, but it is pretty damn close.

The question is how large is the bullet?
It's a 12 gauge shotgun.
Not big enough then...
Actually a 12 gauge is .748 inch and 18.99mm
The Bolter standard caliber is .75 so 12 gauge is really close to the real thing.
Too bad most artists that drawn WH40K art have no sense of scale.
12 gauge deer shot slugs would make some pretty decent bolter rounds id say.
I bet the recoil from that will give you forearms like that of a serial masturbator.
Faptau is dissatisfied with this
@thatBritishBloke
Not really =) Have a look Youtube.com
I was maybe able to build a chainsword which doesn't really have all the details and such, but this is just too much for me...someone else has to accept the challenge :(
Looks like Vera assault rifle from the TV series Firefly.
It is. They later reused the same gun for Firefly. The stock and barrel are folded up on top of the gun.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
How many of you guys are military? Cause the Bolt round is actually slightly larger than a godsdamned .50 cal BMG round that is almost TWICE the size of a .12 gauge slug. PLEASE STOP using civilian metrics for this, it's on the military scale of heavy rifle rounds.
I would argue you are using the wrong ammo type measurement the caliber is measured on the rifle scale and I have handled almost every round the US armed forces use. If they are using a round that is .78 caliber based on the rifle scale it is actually larger than the already impressive and powerful .50 bmg which is classified as .50 caliber. I appreciate your attempt to give people a scale but next time ask a vet in regards to ammo sizes.
