uum why did they change the armor to be more exposing and less protective i know for a fact that as long as your fire caste it doesnt matter if you are male female or whatever you just go and fight
Unspoken rule, whatever armour a female wears it is more revealing than its 'male' counter-part.
I ******* hate that. Makes no real sense. I hate that in every game, annoys the **** outta me.
It's unspoken rule of any fantasy universe: male must always be muscular, brutal and with quadratic jowl, while female must be busty, beddable and less dressed. And I find it reasonable.
I talked about that fact with a sculpture designer of corvus belli´s tabletop game "Infinity". He said most of the tabletop gamers are male..and that the most popular concept of female in fantasy is: sex.

Actually the Kroot are birds. I'm fairly sure the Tau are mammalian or at least similar, but like every single mammal on Earth except the humans, they lack visible breasts. Case in point, they have hooves, which might be an indication for what the designers intended for them.
