well staring down the barrel of a bolter his brains are gonna be smeared all over not even a shield can help him and if bear handed then the sms strength will overcomes the sparten chief

I think they'd kill each other...
Chief is persistent afterall, I can't imagine a single Space Marine destroying the entirety of a Covenant army. Course a Marine doesn't have Cortana to tell him what to shoot...
Nope. 40k vs. 2k. Space Marine wins.
I guess if the Marine hit him twice.
Afterall .50 Caliber Boltgun, .50 Caliber Sniper Rifle.
BOLTGUNS ARE .75 caliber lol... thats a lil bigger than a 20mm round that a bradley APC uses lol. Id like to see the chief survive that.
I think a single Space Marine COULD destroy the entire covenant army, but then, that's just my opinion...
Well... :
1st Spartans and SMs are on the same side - they fight for humanity
2nd A Space marine would defeat Spartan 1vs1
3rd A Marine would charge against impossible odds, kill a good 1 hundred covenant soldiers and eventually get shot down
4th ... while Chief makes tactical strikes where the enemy is weak, and will not engage more enemies than he can handle

A brief reminder that SMs are a strike force, ie. more than one. Poor chief is alone (spartans are superhuman as well apparently).
Personally, I don't see them fighting each other so much, it'd be more interesting to see generally HALO vs WH40k

for the eldar ranger use "Baharroth" hes one of the Eldar phoenix lords
personally, i think it would be a bit equal, both of them have sper strength, but the space marine is still stronger, but the spartan has less armor so is quicker and more agile :/ its hard to tell
as said before, i think the only real chance a spartan would have is if it was the Cheif, would be a freaking awesome fight either way

Well you say that he would be quicker because of less armor but in this sense you would be wrong due to the Space marines amount of augmentations he has speed greater then any man which puts him up to a Spartans level then the armor increases that to a even greater speed. So they'd either be the same speed or the space marine would be faster. More liekly that the marine would be faster.
*sigh* Can't we just all agree that the collective force of the Adeptus Astartes is greater compared to every other force?
