The Tau race as a whole is generally associated with players that also like anime (or anything Japanese for that matter).

P.S. Weeaboo is a popular internet slang that are used to describe people with unhealthy obsession with Japanese culture (i.e. anime). The word's origin is from a Perry Bible Fellowship comic where it was a nonsensical word.

Like I said, they are generally associated with it but it doesn't mean it's true.

I don't really like or watch anime, but I really like Tau.
I still don't see how this should be funny.

"For the greater Weeaboo" is an alternative take on the more common "For the greater good" - the drawing is pulling our attention to the idea that the two are pretty much the same in the minds of many Tau fans.

However, I'm rather partial to the Tau and I don't watch much anime, so it may be slightly flawed in that respect.

First off you have to understand what a Weeaboo is.

Well, the Tau designs are very anime, and the philosophy is very similar to that of feudal Japan, and to some extent modern Japanese culture. So the comparison seems pretty apt...
