Tau have the most Awesome Footwork of any species and these guys cosplay is not doing justice to that...
Tau don't fight in Melee.
Well cept for Farsight but generally don't see a Tau warrior in melee either because the enemy is dead before they get to them or they are dead cause the enemy is right in front of them.
No, the Kroot are the mainstay melee force of the Tau. Basically they do the up close, dirty job the fire caste doesn't want to do... The Krootox is a nightmarish piece of work however....
Perhaps Tau learned how to kick with their hooved feet like horses do?
