The engine block, pistons and the cylinders are probably manually crafted so no surprise there =) It wouldn't surprise me if there is someone manually mixing chemicals to produce fuel as well =)
Yeah but who knows what kind of materials the Adeptus Mechanicus makes tank armor out of,as we know it could include materials that would render modern tank rounds along with any modern anti-tank weapons useless or at least less effective.
Not to mention that 40k Imperium tank and anti-tank munitions are probably capable of turning any modern tank into ashes with a single shot/blast.
The .50 cal of the 40k universe might be different than the .50 cal of today because as I said in my last post, who knows what the Imperium makes their ammunition and armor out of, so a Imperial .50 cal might just be capable of penetrating through modern tank armor because it is the far future and who knows how far technology has advanced.
You do know that the Leman Russes are mass produced by the millions?
The Imperium has the Leopard mentality, what is the point of Armour if it will get pierced anyway? There is nothing that could be mass produced and work against The Eldar, Tau or Necrons, and you don't want to give Ork or Chaos looters weapons that the Imperium would themselves have problems with.
And Because almost all Wars fought by IG are defensive and with trenches, having fast tanks would be pointless.
And because the Imperium has to farry their equipment from World to World, Space to Ground, you don't want it to be heavy, so you need to save up on weight.
Fiction writers are always terrible at engineering. You'll find this kind of errors everywhere.
The errors one could avoid with a quick Google search.

Combat edge; Abrams lol

Actually a Leman Russ pintle mounted weapon can do just that.
Not bad for the old battle tractor.
It's .50 cal gun?

The man has a point it IS 40,000 years in the future after all :/
Only races like Orks can get away with (human) scientific inaccuracies.
