Not bad for a first model, but I don't see how this could ever fire Plasma? I'd suggest you made it similar to the SMG in Halo, with a battery for a buttstock, also a sort of particle accelerator unit to fire the plasma ^^
I'm sorry, are you critiquing an imaginary gun for it's inability to fire imaginary bullets? I find your lack of faith disturbing. Imaginary fail.

The thing on top of the gun, I named a bolt accelerator.
I'm seeing sweet particle effects on the round ends of that section. Sweet energy collecting, charging effects. But what do I know? That could be solid for all I know.
