Online Play
HT2050 shares the same technology as UT3 and as a consequence, the mod requires you to log in to play online. If you have a UT3 log-in, then you'll be able to access the mod fine and we also allow you to create an online account in our menu system if needed.
We recommend a player count of 6-10 people to fully enjoy the game. It does not support the community features such as achievements that are found in UT3.
Teams
- Infiltrators
Infiltrators are an elite team of mercenaries who are highly paid by corporations to perform black ops on their rivals. They are equipped with the latest in weaponry and bio-technology such as implantable cyberware and computer-neural interfaces.
- Corporate Security
CorpSec consist of two levels:
Level 1 Corporate Security is a lightly armed security squad who act as the bulk of the security force for corporations.
Level 2 Corporate Security are a heavily armed squad of soldiers who react to emergencies within the facility. Once level 1 guards have been engaged level 2 guards are alerted and are deployed.
Weapons
- Infiltrator Rifle
This is a powerful rifle that can fire both normal FMJ rounds and tranquiliser darts.
The rifle has two modes:
1) Tranquiliser mode: When a CorpSec is hit with a dart they become groggy a second shot will knock them out for a short period. It has a slow rate of fire.
2) Rifle mode: This has a relatively slow rate of fire, however the rounds cause great damage to CorpSec.
- CorpSec SMG
This has a high rate of fire, however doesn't inflict a large amount of damage. Used by Level 1 CorpSec.
- CorpSec Rifle
This has a lower rate of fire, but inflicts a larger amount of damage. Used by Level 2 CorpSec.
Playing the game
In this release of Hostile Takeover 2050, there are 3 gametypes. In all game modes, Infiltrators can't respawn. Once Infiltrators begin killing corporate security, the heavy reinforcements arrive to maintain the security of the facility. Corporate Security will respawn as more heavily armed and armoured Level 2 Corporate Security Guards. Infiltrators also lose points for killing Corporate Security.
Game Modes
- Steal The Item
In this game mode the Infiltrators must find an entrance into the compound, steal the item and then make it back to the exfiltration zone. The item will be indicated by an icon in your AR HUD. The exfiltration zone will be indicated in the same fashion once the item has been captured.
- Sabotage The Target
In this game mode the Infiltrators must find an entrance into the compound, sabotage the item and then make it back to the exfiltration zone. The item will be indicated by an icon in your AR HUD. The exfiltration zone will be indicated in the same fashion once the item has been captured.
- Hostile Takeover (team DM)
In this game mode the Infiltrators have been given the order to take control of the facility. Infiltrators must use extreme force to neutralize the Corporate Security. Infiltrators will not have points removed for killing Corporate Security in this mode. Corporate Security only have 3 lives.
