Twisted Insurrection - Public Beta 5, it has been a very long time in the making, but it is Finally been released to the public! After lots of hard work, there has been an incredible amount of work done to Twisted Insurrection since the release of Public Beta 4 back in late 2012, the mod is almost unrecognizable from all of it's previous releases and feels much more complete and polished than ever before.

The Twisted Insurrection download file (Twisted-Insurrection-PB5.ZIP) contains the complete Twisted Insurrection installation so all you need to do is extract and play. Alternatively, those of you whom have Public Beta 4 installed can simply run the launcher to update your current build to Public Beta 5 (PB5.000). If the download above isn't working here are other links available:

Note: It is highly recommended that you run TI_Launcher.exe as an Administrator!

Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 5 (Full)

Download Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 5 (Full) from Project Perfect Mod
Download Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 5 (Full) from ModDB.com
Download Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 5 (Full) from GameBanana
The complete changelog since Public Beta 4 can be viewed here!

To install and play Twisted Insurrection, simply extract the folder (Twisted Insurrection PB5) from the downloaded ZIP file and run TI_Launcher.exe to run, update, set up and play Twisted Insurrection. No hassle, no mess, just a simple extract and play!

- What is Twisted Insurrection? -

Twisted Insurrection is a stand alone modification of Tiberian Sun, meaning you don't need to own Tiberian Sun to play. The mod features a completely new in-depth story-line which puts you in an alternate timeline where the Brotherhood of Nod were victorious during the first Tiberian War rather than GDI; After the Brotherhood used the Ion Cannon to destroy an irreplaceable monumental structure, the Global Defense initiative lost all UN support leaving them in total disarray. This is where our story begins.

Along with the complete overhaul and replacing of the original games graphics and having it's own all new soundtrack, Twisted Insurrection brings you all new units, infantry and naval forces to command as either The Brotherhood of Nod or the Global Defense Initiative in both singleplayer and multiplayer missions along with all new structures and base defenses to build as well! The mod also introduces the GloboTech corporation and contains all new campaigns for both GDI and Nod, plus some additional bonus challenge missions and several hidden maps so there is always plenty more to play. TI also features all new game-modes such as Survival, Twisted Dawn and Checkpoint Mode and has over 100 multiplayer maps to play either online or in skirmish mode.

Do you have what it takes to drag the shattered Global Defense Initiative out of ruin? Or will you crush all who oppose the will of Kane and his Inner Circle? The choice is yours commander.

- Public Beta 5 Features -

Public Beta 5 features a huge handful of new things to offer to the players, both singleplayer and multiplayer! The new client created by Rampastring and shared with Dawn of the Tiberium Age allows preset starting locations and teams, similar to how the game is set up in Yuri's Revenge, missions have been reworked and many, many more have been added to the mixture, new game modes and much more! Small handful of some noteable features are:

  • Windows 8 Support
  • All new Skirmish/Online set-up Options
  • Completely Standalone (No CD/TS Required)
  • A new in-depth story-line
  • Completely revamped graphics
  • Additional Skirmish Modes such as Twisted Dawn, Survival and Checkpoint
  • Over 40 new single-player campaign missions
  • Over 100 new multi-player maps
  • Smoothest ever game-play
  • Excellent online game-play
  • Official CNCNet Support
  • All New Units
  • All New Structures
  • Enhanced Skirmish and AI
  • Custom cinematics
  • An all new Original Soundtrack
  • Over 1300 changes since Beta 4!

Please note that this is a Public Beta and not a final release, meaning that bugs and errors are a possibility. We are always looking for feedback and thoughts from the fans and the players so if you have any thoughts, ideas or want to report any errors you have come across, please feel free to share them with us! Thank you, and we really hope you enjoy the mod!

Fantastic!

Great job on the GUI!

Though I'm getting sporadic .NET errors now and again relating to "out of memory exceptions". First one usually pops up when the White House is blown up, but also a few minutes into the third challenge.

I am however unsure if its related to TI or not as I get the same error in the latest DTA release.

I think it might have to do with how outdated your graphics card and/or software is. I have a very old computer so I sometimes get that with any game I play on my computer.

That means the code running in the VM is leaking memory which happens seldomly in managed code, because usually the GC does the cleanup on it's own. There may be some hacks in place. Also .NET will not error when the hardware is running out of memory, but earlier when the program has hit a barrier.

Oh no, you are absolutely correct. It appears that one of the triggers in the map has somehow in-corrected itself during a change we made a long time ago. I'm sorry about that! We sometimes overlook some issues as they can just appear out of the blue.

I have fixed the issue, the map will be fixed in the update PB5.003 (or higher). The launcher will prompt you of this update when it's available. Any saved games you made of the map will no longer work though, in order to play the fixed version you have to complete Nod 9 again.

Some units are campaign only 'cause they would clash with other unit roles if they were available in the Tech Tree. Some can be found in crates though. What units exactly? If you mean the old Dawn units, then they can be used in Skirmish by chose "Twisted Dawn" from the game mode drop box in the skirmish menu.

You're right, my Sound settings where low, I've increased it to 10. Now when lowering Music to 5 I can hear MG firing but I must say NOD MG firing sound is little too quiet(little ugly also), GDI is little better. Can you make them little louder. Original TS had loud MG fire.

Still, your game is excellent !

NOD mission 15 is imposable. I managed to kill both rpg towers at once and get my MCV to the outpost but then I could not harvest any tiberium. What am I supposed to do? Take on the GDI base that is over half the map without any additional support?

Aro Jul 23 2014, 4:41am replied:

The GDI RPG Towers have a Minimum Range of 2. You have to drive up close to it to take it out. This however has been bought to our attention as an unfair method of completing the map so something else will be added to the mission soon.

jo can u PLZ relase a map editor or point me in the direction were I can DL one that work whit this mod

if u are to make a forgotten faction when u finde out how to have more than just 2 factions then I recommend using RA units like heavy tank and v2 luncher whit tiberium gass and the landy (RANGER)

the only complant is the buildings of the GDI faction (have not tested out nod but the building that I have blown up locked awsome) they need some more love u can ask him to to get some vanilla upgraded buildings the Upgrade center is just plain ugly vanilla alert haha
Moddb.com

TD building for that timeline and I miss the nod airstrip most iconic building of C&C after nod temple ofc

and one last thing cant u ask this team to help u out in order to get more than 2 faction the dawn of the tiberium age they may use the same enigne but it feel more like c&c95 tho so your mod is the best over all mod to date great job well done and I love the Twisted Dawn game mod it is just awsome

The Map editor is FinalTI, it's in your main TI directory.

GDI Sturctures will ALL be replaced eventually, but it is hard work to do so in such a short amount of time. We have hired a new guy to take care of GDI and he's already doing a great job.

Twisted Dawn buildings will happen, but we have higher priorities.

We know how to add more than two factions, we just chose not to.

Your first bug, when it crashes, is it an Internal Error or does it just freeze? This could have been caused if you saved the game before you updated the mod, thus the version is outdated.

Second, this is a Tiberian Sun issue and not a Twisted Insurrection issue, so it's unpreventable I'm afraid. Just make sure you don't command your Machinists of Joy to take over your allies vehicles unless you actually intend to.

Third, this isn't a bug, this is intentional. It's so that you can have more than the player limit on a certain map as you said.

Recently downloaded mod & have to say how awesome it is
i love the story & campaign & globo tec units
i love the maps & have taken to exploring them without enemies, as i cant handle both!
i love the hidden things - like easter eggs
i love the music especially & twisted dawn mode
and the artwork and details are really high quality and less sifi - much more sense for GDI to have sensible buildings

one bug is hard AI on tec one doesnt work, did produce base but no units - it was fun however storming a globotec base, exo suits, vulcans & artillery vs militants

my only complaints are not any mutants so far
massive collateral damage - many blue on blue killings plus flame tanks are more deadly when their dead half the time, maybe all units - mostly infantry could have a range boost
No titans or juggernauts or hover mlrs, besides the mammoth series & mlrs they are my all time favourites
as the Goliath isn't that deadly maybe titans could be late era fast moving tank hunter and juggernauts similar to the hammer head
the walker mlrs firing style doesn't make sense unless the rockets will hit all the targets - also (this is a complaint about all C&C games) MLRS's generally out range fixed artillery - the missiles are huge! 240mm or such

i have a question too
what do oil derricks do - they don't seem to generate cash
would it be possible to have tiberian dawn structure on maps that act like globotec - if captured allow you to build mammoth tanks
or if you had a mutant side could use TD units
sorry if this sounds like a rip of your mod it is really awesome and i'm glad there are people out there who dedicate the time to make these mods to a standard far better than the original producers

Hi all, I am having a system out of memory exception after about 15 minutes of gameplay. I have windows 8.1 64bit system. 8GIGS of RAM and an Gforce 745T (I think). My .NET framework updated to 4.5.1 and .NET Framework of 3.1 on there as well. I cant run TI at 1920x1080 because it then cuts off the right task bar so I can't build - and I know there's an issue with windows 8.1 where random memory strings are continuously created if a program is ran in a resolution other than what the monitor is set to. I would really appreciate some help - I'd like to enjoy the game in full. About to test the saved game issue mentioned above - my game is fully updated as of today.
