Can I talk about...?

Almost anything is fair game for The Soap Box, providing it meets Mod DB's terms of use, stays within the area of gaming (Or issues affecting gaming), and doesn't offend. We'd also advise against naming specific companies or people in your articles, just talk about the subject at hand and most people will be able to guess who or what you're talking about.

If you're discussing something to do with laws, be aware that there are different countries in this world and not all of them have the same rule book. Make sure it's clear what you're talking about if you mention specific laws or national regulations.

Cool! I can talk about anything!

Try again kiddo, you've still got to follow the rules. This isn't a free for all, this is just the place to write about your opinions on matters affecting gaming. Flames, deliberate trolling and the like are liable to earn you a ban.

Why should I write for this group?

We're more likely to check this group for thought-provoking front-page material. Simple really.

How do I get started?

Easy - either click here to create a new article which is ready to go, or get an old article and link it to this group. As simple as that.

Something like that belongs in the Mod Suggestions forum. And even then, nobody's going to do it. Capcom is just going to C&D the team. For remake projects, you're better off working on it yourself and trying to recruit as you progress. Either way, Capcom C&D you is way too high. Not even worth starting something like that.

C&D means Cease and Desist. I've never heard of companies like Capcom striking deals with wee little modders. Not out of the realm of possibility though, but very unlikely.
It would be much more likely if someone was doing something original with their franchise rather than a remake. Besides, you never know when Capcom is going to remake their own game. Just look at Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X for the PSP. That game is a 3D remake of Mega Man X.

Sounds awesome. It'll be a lot easier to form conversations through the group than by foraging through forums.
