Self-Installer Version compatible with CK2 2.1.4. --64-bit Windows Only-- Remember to remove previous versions before installing new versions.


- [Added] New "Reachman Invasion of High Rock" BM.
- [Added] New Portrait set for the Tang Mo and Mer.
- [Added] New elements to the Khajiit Portraits.
- [Added] Falmer culture; ruler designer only.
- [Added] Ability to torture captured Spies, this gives a chance of "revealing" the Spy's employer which will give the employer a tarnished reputation.
- [Added] "Covert Actions" System; "Court Assassins" are now "Spies" and perform more than simple assassinations.
- [Added] Escape Prison Ambition.
- [Added] Refute Claim Plot.
- [Added] Decision to Abandon a Claim.
- [Added] Some new decision icons.
- [Added] New adventure encounter system; this won't make a huge appearance in 0.1.5 but from now on it won't be so hard to add new adventures with random encounters.
- [Added] Completely new rewritten and rebalanced building lists, including several new unique buildings.
- [Added] New "Loan" System.
- [Added] Many new flavour events.
- [Added] New Colonise job action for the Chancellor and nerfed the cultural conversion event (players will not get cultural conversion events anymore, they must use the councillor).
- [Added] "Patron" God System for 8/9 Divines, with a new Pilgrimage specific to them.
- [Added] New on_birth event to handle birthsigns and racial traits.
- [Added] Ayleid now a full race with their own portrait set.
- [Added] Chimer, with Racial trait (shares portraits with Altmer). According to MK, Chimer still exist around Cathnoquey.
- [Added] "Imperial City Guard" decision for the holder of the Imperial Isle which becomes available when fighting defensive wars, spawning a small army but losing garrison.
- [Added] New on_birth events to handle fertility for all races.
- [Added] New Ambitions "Go on a Pilgrimage", "Obtain the Amulet of Kings" and "Obtain an Artefact".
- [Added] New Plot "Kidnap".
- [Added] New religious icon to the topbar (replaced the cross with the "favour" icon).
- [Added] Spell System Rewrite; the Spellbook now has over 100 Spells; including Necromancer specific spells.
- [Added] Ability to marry your character's same-sex partner (player only).
- [Added] Several dozen new flags.
- [Added] Lycanthropy & Vampire system.
- [Added] Several new provinces added in Colovia, Pyandonea, Argonia and Valenwood.
- [Fix] Erroneous opposites from Traits
- [Fix] Prepared Invasion CB no longer converts the culture and religion of a random province
- [Fix] Elf rapid aging resolved
- [Fix] Possessing a religious head title will no longer allow you to convert away from that religion.
- [Fix] Marriages for rulers, heirs, and pretenders will be broken if racially incompatable
- [Fix] Orgnum's death event no longer uses global flags and only converts owned provinces.
- [Fix] Dragonblood/Dragonborn can now take the pilgrimage to High Hrothgar regardless of religion or culture
- [Fix] Opinion modifiers for selling family members into slavery should work
- [Fix] Argonians no longer receive stat maluses when they "have" Knahaten Flu (Argies will still gain the trait but they suffer no negative effects, it's an issue with base CK2 and how diseases work which we've had to work around).
- [Fix] All CBs have been overhauled and bugfixed.
- [Fix] Various Assassination System Bugfixes (Multiple assassins at once, landed assassins etc)
- [Fix] 2.1.3 Compatibility.
- [Fix] Warlord Suppression CB has been fixed. Being a Warlord is now much more dangerous.
- [Fix] Get Married ambition has been changed for "race" appropriateness; Mer can still choose the ambition until they are around 165.
- [Fix] Have Daughter/Son ambitions have been changed for "race" appropriateness; Mer will no longer get an aborted ambition after age 45.
- [Fix] Manes now have their appropriate outfit.
- [Fix] Leyawiin's flag restored to it's correct, lore appropriate flag.
- [Fix] Several issues with succession laws and their allow triggers.
- [Fix] Dragonborn Descendent decision should now list the correct characters.
- [Fix] Incorrect targeting of Slave Raid modifiers against your own capital if you weren't personally leading the raids.
- [Fix] Minor issue with artefact removal corrected.
- [Fix] Temple settlement pictures fixed (certain races have replacements now).
- [Fix] Loop error with racial trait events & potuns.
- [Fix] Mane trait now caches, fixing a bug related to the Mane's unique succession.
- [Fix] Several Adjacency issues.
- [Fix] Several trigger and other issues in certain old VIET/cybrxkhan events included in EK.
- [Fix] Arcane University is now a "Temple" holding.
- [Fix] Fixed an issue with conversion decisions, they'll now be unavailable for use if you're using a "special" title (these are immune to conversion anyway).
- [Fix] Friend Ambition loop issue; no more AI with 99+ Diplomacy.
- [Fix] Minor river issue between Tenmar Wall and Stormhold.
- [Fix] Pilgrim traits should no longer disappear from nords.
- [Fix] Mane title is now destroyed if a non-mane acquires it.
- [Fix] Adjacencies not displaying the dotted lines.
- [Fix] Missing adjacencies across several rivers.
- [Fix] Province events (Goblin infestations and so on) completely rewritten; they now function properly once again.
- [Fix] Buying something nice in the market for a lover will now subtract wealth as it is supposed to.
- [Tweak] Changed the culture of Cathnoquey, Kamery and Namien to Quey. Rulers of Cathnoquey are also now Quey culture. The Quey use Indian graphics if a person has the DLC.
- [Tweak] Changed the culture of Rimmen, Duncinthe, Sagos to Akaviri, with Eight Divines religion.
- [Tweak] Reduced cost of the Assassination Guilds (Dark Brotherhood for example) and tweaked base cost of Covert Actions from 30 to 15 (multiplier is unchanged, but costs should be roughly half than pre0.1.5).
- [Tweak] Reordered some technologies in the tech screen to make them a little more uniform.
- [Tweak] CBs should be a little more informative as to why you can or cannot use them.
- [Tweak] No longer able to use the majority of CBs when under a Regency (akin to EU4).
- [Tweak] There's now an age restriction on the Warlord Ambition; Mer can no longer take it after 150, non-Mer cannot take it after 60.
- [Tweak] Prisoner Decisions submenu will now only appear if you actually have prisoners.
- [Tweak] Added a number to months to make them more easily identifiable for non-lore savvy players; 1 Morning Star (1), 3370 is now how a date would read, with Morning Star being the first month in the Nirnian Calendar.
- [Tweak] "Scourge the Living"/"Scourge the Undead" CBs now convert the provinces they are used against to the attackers religion/culture on success (the Frozen Horde can now more easily spread death across Atmora).
- [Tweak] Balfiera now forms it's own Duchy, like the Imperial Isle. Bhoriane was elevated to a Duchy and gained Balfiera's former mainland holdings.
- [Tweak] Balfiera now has 6 holding slots
- [Tweak] Warlord Suppression and High Kingdom CBs now only grant weak claims
- [Tweak] Losing a prepared invasion now grants a weak claim on your primary title to the defender.
- [Tweak] Orgnum's death will now destroy the High Fane of Abbarbas religious head title
- [Tweak] Relations between the Orisimer and other races have been reduced
- [Tweak] It is now much more difficult to demand a character's religious conversion
- [Tweak] Reduced chance of AI to take suicide decision
- [Tweak] Newborns of mixed-race marriages will now inherit the culture and religion of the race they are born as
- [Tweak] Changed primary holding of the Mane into a Barony
- [Tweak] Argonians are now merely resistant, instead of immune to diseases (Note: Argonian provinces are still immune to plagues)
- [Tweak] Argonians are restricted from colonizing outside Black Marsh, Marsh, Mangrove Swamp, Jungle, and Valenwood Forest terrain
- [Tweak] Bosmer are restricted from colonizing outside Wood, Forest, Black Marsh, Marsh, Mangrove Swamp, Jungle, and Valenwood Forest terrain
- [Tweak] Removed health bonuses from all races
- [Tweak] Removed fertility malus from Orsimer
- [Tweak] Reduced Khajiit/Argonian revoltrisk reduction to 1% (from 2.5%)
- [Tweak] High Kingdom of High Rock will be named 'Direnni Hegemony' if held by an Altmer
- [Tweak] Certain events will now check for bankruptcy instead of demesne efficiency
- [Tweak] Reduced impact of bankruptcy triggered modifier
- [Tweak] Reduced penalty for chaste to -0.1 fertility
- [Tweak] Barony of Falinesti has been renamed to Green-Sap
- [Tweak] Removed opinion penalty from homosexuality. Unlike (sadly) our own world, Nirn doesn't really care about your sexuality.
- [Tweak] Legendary Towers (White-Gold Tower, Adamantine Tower etc) now provide Retinue.
- [Tweak] Same cultured provinces (Imperial Liege, Imperial Province) are now easier to convert to your religion.
- [Tweak] Holdings now cost 1,000 Gold.
- [Tweak] Eight & Nine Divines less susceptible to heresies.
- [Tweak] Khajiit COAs now use standard shield instead of hexagon.
- [Tweak] Increased Cost of Holdings.
- [Tweak] Crimson Plague now slightly more dangerous.
- [Tweak] NPCs should suicide a little less.
- [Tweak] Command modifiers on personality traits removed.
- [Tweak] Minor Job title bonus effects have been nerfed slightly.
- [Tweak] Mane religious title upgraded to a Duchy (too many issues with titular counties).
- [Tweak] Riddle'thar followers opinion of the Mane has been increased.
- [Tweak] "Universal" tech screen fix; no longer do smaller resolutions need seperate files.
- [Tweak] Halved the monthly income of Orgnum's Coffer.

For some reason quite a few downloads are being corrupted; it's not anything we've done but rather an issue with the MODDB servers or the connection I guess.

I'd try redownloading if I were you.

The decision was taken to force the installer to accept only 64-bit Operating Systems. This was done as a majority of our players utilise 64-bit Operating Systems, yet the majority of the crash reports come from users on 32bit systems. As we have previously stated, we do not consider Elder Kings to be fully compatible with 32-bit Operating Systems. If you wish to attempt to run Elder Kings on a 32bit OS, please download the unsupported Zip Archive.

Uninstall Elder Kings completely and install a new version.

Someone else had this problem but it was being caused by installing over an existing Elder Kings.

Delete your Elder Kings installation and reinstall a fresh version. This type of issue is usually caused by installing over an existing version of the mod.

Is anyone else getting blank events? Tried playing with different characters and reinstalling. Mod is unplayable for me and I've been unable to find a way to fix it.

Please use the bugtracker or our subforum on the PDX forums for support.

Blank events are caused by not following instructions and installing over an old version of Elder Kings. There's a reason we tell you to always delete old versions first, and this is it.

Go into the trait files, and where the House Redoran Trait is, it should say something like "Customizer: no" Change that to "customizer :yes" and you have the ability to.

It's intended. After playing a few public multiplayer games the dev team realised how much of a mistake having no values set on the traits was. It resulted in, despite house rules stating otherwise, people basically cheating. What was meant to allow players to customise their characters precisely how they wanted instead just resulted in people playing unfairly, so those few spoiled it I guess.

You need to be of a spellcasting class; Mage, Battlemage, Nightblade and Priests are the primary spellcasters. Monks, Bards and Pilgrims should get access to a few low-level spells. You can also access some spells by appointing a Mage to be your Magister.
