So the true revolution was indeed collectivization (1929-1933)! In only twenty years a semi-feudal country was turned into an industrial power (without colonization!) - there is only one similar example: 1949+ China. Now compare the livestock figures of the same period with Solzhenitsyn's "studies"...
There is however some truth in Trostyist propaganda here: GDP was high since it was related to progressive destruction of private property. But again, it was everyone's interest that the URSS would never strive (exactly the same move during the French Revolution).
