I like "communism" the idea :)
If it is to ever work again on such a large scale then I believe it needs to be perfected without any unfairness or flaws.
Hi im new to this brotherhood. :D
Deleted those stupid, false images... I'm not going to go into a 2000 character rant about how stupid people are. It's just not worth it, seeing as it will accomplish nothing.
:'( that is all.
Why shouldn't communism learn from the past mistakes?
These were, among others, destruction of the intelligence (that is extremely useful), being too vehemently opposed to opponent's parties, etc.
Why not turn lead into gold? Use Philosopher's Stone, Mind? Shouldn't it be the time for a new communism, a new way to both perceive & do it?
why birds fly?
Feillyne, sure, why not to learn. But I'd also like to know about those "terrifying" mistakes of Communism. I'll take Russina Empire as an example. Destruction of the intelligencia? Who was an intelligencia in Russian Empire? Tzar, family of the tzar, courtier whores and toadies, their children, etc. Aristocracy! After bolshevics came to the rule, they allowed this "intelligencia" to flee from the country. And this was a mistake. During WW II many people from this intelligencia cooperated with nazies. Nice intelligencia, right? Now let's see who represented Intelligencia of USSR: workers, teachers, doctors, scientists, military... Intelligencia of Russian Empire turned the Country to a boundless desert with poor and illiterate population, intelligencia of USSR created a superpower with the most reading nation.
Sure, Communism of tomorrow's day will be somehow different. But the most important things like patriotism, brotherhood, equality, humanism, mutual help, internationalism, strong society, strong family, etc, will never outdate.
I did not wish for it to come across as that.
I believe that Communism should learn from it's past mistakes, as it does have many.
In some Communist countries, the party has been corrupted and has started to work for their own personal interests, barring out the interests of the working man (now appearing as the proletariat). This makes party leaders seem to appear as the bourgeoisie, or ruling class. This is destroying the "classless society" that Communism is based upon.
Destruction of intelligence. With a totalitarian society that Communism is, this can but does not always happen. Individualist inventors with new, superior can be squashed with the common interest and efficiency of the state-owned industry. This was demonstrated in Ayn Rand's book "Anthem". But in the USSR, many people with very good ideas did get them implemented. For example, Mikoyan and Gurevich. Founders of the Mikoyan-and-Gurevich Design Bureau (MiG), which pioneered the Russian aircraft industry. They created the MiG-15, one of the most famous fighters of the early cold war era. It was superior to the American fighter (the F-86 Sabre), in every way possible. He started as a machine worker, then was conscripted to army. Then he went into the aircraft industry, and, partnered with Gurevich, designed important fighter planes. After they died, the Bureau went on to make even more important fighter aircraft, such as the MiG-21 and MiG-29. There are many more examples of very brilliant people pioneering technology with the state system in place.
I do agree, it is time for a new, revised Communism. Many components of the Communist system are rusty and outdated and need to be updated for the 21st century. I still believe that the basic principles of Communism can still be relevant.
