Tank must've been crewed by a **** poor crew. How did they not see it coming driving across the open desert.
It only takes one shot to obliterate that VBIED.
He had fired already, dunno how long it takes to reload a T-55, apparently too long. It's the fact the guys jumped off that ZU-23 that just blows my mind, a few bursts of that thing and the bomb truck would have gone pop long before it reached them.
Maybe he catch them when their Mag was empty. But the Tank sure survived the blast. Dunno about crew though.
Looking at the vid again it would suggest that they were out of ammo on the technical. At the beginning they are trying to get the guns round on the VBIED, but the next time you seem them they are bailing.
I think that T-55 was immobilized, at least, that seems to have been the rumour. They were obviously in a heated battle, (hence the Russians, the marines only escort humanitarian convoys and demining ops, so they must have been pinned down with this SAA unit during the offensive on Taqba)
Still can't quite believe that Marine though, stood there and burned his AK-74 mag into that truck, didn't even give an inch until he ran out, but by then he obviously knew it was too late. RIP.
Well he definetly died as a man. Respect
It still amazes me how they still haven't developed tactics against those damn things. So many things can kill them:
-Tanks
-ZU-23 techies
-RPGs
-ATGMs
-Those big AA gun gun-trucks.
-BMPs
That RU marine has the biggest balls in history, staring death in the face. If he had an RPG that VBIED wouldve been history. RIP to everyone in vid, it's a pity they still let a vehicle cross an open desert and get right into their faces.
I guess all that dust concealed it well.
