The Zulfiqar 3 main battle tank is less sophisticated, than the latest MBTs
They're obviously trying to copy the design of the abrams. Maybe they hope it could lead to friendly fire incidents on the American side if they're ever in a war with them?
Also, I wasn't aware Iran used the MG3
Maybe it's just a copy-design of the MG3 ;)
Seriously, countless countries use the MG3 as it still is one hell of a good MG.
from what i have read it still has the same fire power of the t-72 and
a low grade composite armor .......... this tank is like:
"woooow am just scary as the M1 Abrams ....... just scary"
Point is that if you're that determined to get a tank that looks and performs similarly to an Abrams then you should buy the M60-2000 or just cut the bull and buy an actual Abrams. lol
Or buy a Challenger 2, Leopard 2A5, or T-90 variant. All 3 of those tanks can go toe to toe with the Abrams M1A2 on even terms or better. It really just becomes a matter of who gets the 1st shot off in such a situations as all 4 can easily 1 hit kill the other from roughly similar ranges.
Until the T-90 crew loads Refleks missiles.
Yeah but they were obviously trying to capture the look of an Abrams. They should just get the real thing because the looks doesn't mean it's good.
They cant US has trade embargo's on them remember? The US war hawks in the government also want to see Iran annihilated since it represents the last middle eastern power that has yet to be corrupted or destroyed by them. And its not just the US the Saudi Arabian and Israeli governments want the same thing :/ This is why Iran is trying so hard to become a nuclear power. Not to attack us but deter us from attacking them IE they would with out a doubt use nukes on their own ground to stop "what would most likely be" a US NATO led invasion.

the iranians know that NATO allies won't sell them their tanks....unless except maybe for France...and Russia
Simple question?How we are so sure that tank is piece of junk?There is no confirm specification about these tank anywere.They might gain technology's needed to build a advance tank from china(It may be a Iranian version of Type99 MBT) or given the Fact they have Abrams in there neighboring country Irak(which very soon going to have a M1s in there army inventory)they might just stole the tec needed to build a tank capable of battling M1Abrams,Challenger 2,Leopard 2A5,orT-90s head on.
I'm just saying....It may not be wise to underestimate the Iranians.
Because Iran doesnt have the funding, time or experience to develop a tank on par with the top tanks of NATO and Russia. And even if they were able to analyze a stolen tank (though this is very unlikely) They do not have the budget, infrastructure or resources (advance electronics, DU or tungsten) to produce it in any real numbers.
You might want to reconsider that...
