this isn't realt a heavy tank right? It doesnt have heavyier armor and guns then T-55
He had 122mm gun, T-55 had 100mm... your data is wrong.
Actually it is heavy tank, with heavier armor.
I've always liked this picture.
Also the IS-2 was very small for a heavy tank. It had more frontal armor than the Tiger but was about the weight of the Panther. Unfortunately, the large caliber gun fired 2 piece high explosive rounds and wasn't suited for combat with other tanks.
IS-2 was not a small tank at all, not even for a heavy tank. How can you classify it as small ? Just because its profile is a little bit lower than from the Tiger II doesn't mean it is a 'small' tank LOL. Panzer I & II were small tanks. the Hetzer was a small vehicle. KV-1, Shermans and T34s were much smaller as well. But the IS-2 was a big heavy tank. It was smaller than the King Tiger in hight, but it was still a big tank anyway.
