Any of the BM multiple rocket launchers is a katyusha
as katyusha was a nickname of all BM's to today
so yes it is a katyusha
Not exactly. Katyusha was a collective name (wrongly) for all BM which fought in WW II: BM-8-36, BM-8-24, BM-8-48, BM-13 Katyusha, BM-13N. Actually only BM-13 was true Katyusha. All BM's before BM-13 were on the chassis of T-60 and T-40 tanks. Production of these tanks was ceased, thus RS were installed on the trucks.
Further BM versions were not Katyushas. Such MLRS as BM-21 is Grad ("Hail"), BM-27 is Uragan("Hurricane"), BM-30 is Smerch ("Tornado").
