And also feel free to input on the new Direct x12 Tech and how you think both series of cards will fair with it. Undoubtedly the times ahead will be very competitive for both manufacturers.

Personally, I think in terms of enthusiast gaming performance. The 1070 and 1080 take the lead especially for those looking to grab something that dethrones the previous single card King, being the Titan X. But for mainstream gamers, espeically those looking to jump into VR and high quality gaming for a dirt cheap price, the 480 will DOMINATE.
Nvidia will undoubtedly be forced to respond in months to come with either a cheaper (1060ish?) variant for performance like that of the 480. Or they may even have to lower prices for their new 1080 and 1070 to compete. I personally hope they'll come out with a 1080 ti but that's just me being a junkie for high end graphics.
Nvidia will need to bring down prices to keep up with AMD here.
Wait for press benchmarks! Then start arguing over this :P
Sorry, but this confuser, thingamajig, techno-babble is flying over my head.
