Join the Social Modding Club where we plan events to play some of the great mods of our time, both old and new. The goal of this group is to allow members to easily plan and schedule events for gamers to play together. Moddb.com and Desura allow anyone to easily find, download, install, and update mods. This is the perfect place to setup a group with a forum that pulls gamers together so we can all enjoy the fruits of everyone's labor. My hope is that this will allow gamers to experience some of the amazing online mods that don't always have a large user base. I plan to have regularly scheduled events to keep this group active and a forum that will support users posting their own events or requests for gaming. Please join the group and enjoy the pleasures of playing mods with friends!

I noticed that there were not any groups for Desura based around getting gamers together to play some of the best mods both new and old.

There are tons of great online mods that don't have a huge userbase so it can be hard to get the full experience sometimes. This can lead to great mods being rarely played or left behind even though they are still fun. So this group's focus is to have regularly scheduled events based around some great mods. I also hope people will use the forums to post their own events that aren't 'official' ones. I really want this to pull the gamers together so we can all enjoy the fruits of everyone's labor.

I will be posting the first event and also setting up the forums tomorrow so check back to see what we have planned for this weekend! Also don't forget to join/track the group to stay on top of all the updates.
See you online :)

I see that this group is also showing up on Moddb.com which is great. However I mainly made this group because there wasn't one on Desura. I also wanted a forum that could be used by members to plan events or just request some fellow gamers to play on the fly. This group was made in the spirit of the 'Modding Social Club' on Moddb.com which seems to have died off or is taking a long nap :)

I'm glad to see that it is showing on ModDB as well. That should help a great deal !
