I don't know if you guys knew this before,but my dad is from Turkish Naval Forces and he visited the US. He told me that some sort of Point-Defence Laser is going to be equipped by the Zumwalt. It can currently vaporise a mortar shell and the Americans are still working on it.
Yeah, some tests are going on.
Vaporing shells? Never heard of that, but it does miracles against missiles.

Yes, they said it in several announcements. First France, then Italy then Russia, to go with the normal nations US,UK,Germany and Japan.
