I heard many times that in fact power output of the Sun is very low compared to it's size. But people usually consider Sun as something monstrous with...
Triangulum brought to my attention this amazing article which I had to reply to... Enjoy :)
Lets make it clear what will be allowed to be posted as science in this group.
Guys I found the perfect response to Bill's video about evolution: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xSi8g2ouCQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player please watch before complaining. I don't complain until I read/watch the stuff someone askes me to, and if I for whatever reason can't or don't want to then I keep quite. Also maybe one of you could upload it as a video, my iPhone doesn't let me upload things:(
I'll give that fellow some credit, he organizes his argument a lot better than most creationists. However, if you take a moment to think about what he's saying, his points still aren't valid; the existance of evolution has proven. New things are still being discovered about evolution, and thus, it's not taught as something that's been entirely set in stone, like he seems to believe it is. Even more ridiculous is the concept that evolution shouldn't be taught in schools because children don't understand writing or mathematics. Do you want to make them MORE ignorant? From the way he's phrasing it, he seems to even say that the education of evolution somehow muddles children's brains, as if it's CAUSING those problems. In reality, what he's saying is little more than an indirect and slightly more polite (and I give him props for that nonetheless) version of the creationist logical fallacies.
Then explain to me why when my parents went to school they learned things like multiplying in grade 1, while I learned it in grade 3? Either school is becoming easier to make people stupider, or people are becoming stupider, so school is made easier, for the sake of the students so that they don't get heart attacks when they see 30on; a test. I would link it with evolution BECAUSE evolution basicly teaches that life is meaningless and that there is not much point in trying to be exceptional. Creation on the other hand teaches that God values life greatly, so much that he gave his son's life for our life. Therefore it is WRONG to waste our life doing nothing. Do you know the parable where Jesus is talking about talents? He encourages us to develop our gifts and abilities instead of wasting them. A humans mindset greatly impacts his/her actions. By the way the speaker used to be an evolutionist (not sure if I meantioned that earlier) also please correct me about anything that I am plainly wrong on:)
that has nothing to do with evolution or science, just your god. and we dont care about your god. its not that we are prejudce your god is one of millions of gods we dont care about, this group is dedicated to SCIENCE, if you dont stop posting crap i will delete everything that you say because all it ever is is about your god, which isnt science and we dont care.
have a nice day
on this page we talk about science, and occasionally Fred.
but mostly science
not myths and magic and archaic beleifs.
I watched it. He uses the same debunked logical fallacies all creationists do.
btw we better take this to pm before people get mad.
Straw Man, argument from ignorance...
Same could be said about bill's video. By the way the person talking was an atheist at one point of his life. (if I remember correctly he says that in one of his videos)
Radiometric dating doesn't work. There are a bunch of articles about how it doesn't work. You could search Radiometric dating on creation.com they got good articles.
Radiometric dating works. There are many articles confirming this.
