Roughly a month ago, I have bought my own little Command and Conquer pack on Origin. It was not really cheap, but what the hell. After the release, I wanted to install the pack, but with no luck. My anti virus program has detected all the lauchers as a threat. EA responded with some calming statement saying that its ok, they will fix it, but you can still play the game...how the hell should i play the game without the launcher? Since i know how fast is EA, ive sent te file to the Kaspersky support, and they fixed the threath on the next day in the update (yeah i use Kaspersky, its god damn slow but never let me down before).
So I's starting up Red Alert 3, played a few maps with my mate...it's time to release Desura, and install all the mods with infinite megabit per sec! I have realised really quick, that non of the Ultimate pack games has any kind of modding support unfortunatly. Ihave contacted a hungarian advisor, who told me they have nothing to do with the modding support, go talk to the c&c forum. The c&c forum had no anwser besides 3 guys having the same problem. So i have gone to the ea forums, where they told me to speak with a US advisor. Suprsie: he couldn't help me either. Everybody pointing each other, and doing nothing.
I would like to ask everyone who wanted to buy this game: DO NOT BUY THE ULTIMATE PACK. It has absolutly no modding support, because ea is too busy making blue tint and eyerape sunshine in Battlefield 3. I hope i've saved some bucks for you guys.

EA broke something that wasn't broken, sort of sad. I decided a while ago not to buy it, I'm quite happy with my TFD, C&C3 + KW, RA3 + Uprising and C&C4, all in separate DVD's (except Uprising).
Was to be expected. I wonder how come there are people who didn't get the lessons.
1. Do not buy or preorder a game from EA, its bugged or will change drastically.
Generals 2 becoming F2P after preorders. BF3 Premium without the advertised content and the list goes on.
2. Google the game name together with tags such as "error" "crash" "windows 7" after its release and gasp at the many forum posts all over the net with people having problems.
3. Origin and modding... forget it.
"gaming was limited to consoles" wtf? more than half of the games released are for pc.
I just saw a german review of the new MoH. It is broken beyond imagination, bugged beyond reason, simply trash. I worry a lot about the Generals 2 looking at how much they failed at MoH. The newest MoH:Warfighter is soo popular, only due to the military support and the appearance of real SOF's from various customer countries.
That's why I would never pay for a game.
No modding support for the C&C games. Must you continue to kick the C&C community in the face, EA?
If nothing is done about this then EA will continue to damage the gaming industry itself.

Just glad I never planned to buy it.
Well I already got it, and I remembered that EA said that all games have been updated to play on win7 blablabla. But all of the older games have absolutely no noise except for the background music. No "building, construction complete" or unit sayings. Anyone else have this problem? (if you have it)

It's very unsettling to even consider how many people probably bought the Ultimate Pack and got something completely different than expected. (I didn't buy it and I knew all the games would be Origin..) But I had no idea about the modding support. That was a low blow and don't give me crap about that being 'unintentional'.
It won't end here. If there is EVER another (even partially) moddable C&C game, it will beat the hell out of me.
Still happily didn't buy a single EA game since 2007.

this is why I have torrents for my cnc games. although they are frowned upon I have keys for ALL of my CNC games so im safe on that base. im just heavily disappointed in EA and their lack of care for the community.
