We use our cars everyday. Drive to work. Get our kids from school. Buy stuff at the market. We watch films. We eat. We travel around the country. Some even live most of their lives in their car. They're part of our life, blindly serving us on our every whim.
And when we don't need them, we throw them away. Put into a scrapyard. Recycle into soda cans. Or just leave them to rust where they broke. We'll just buy a new one anyway.
Luckily for us, they aren't alive, so they won't care. They'll vanish silently from our lives, and life will go on as if nothing happened.
But what if they somehow came to life... to get their revenge?...
Nobody knows how exactly they are "awakened". All that is known is that they seem to defy any common sense just like the Crystalline itself.
There's never any wires. The engine is either broken or completely missing. If there is a working one, there is no fuel. Yet, they move, tirelessly, guided by whatever aim was given to them.
Some of them violently explode. Some crash into cars with people inside. Others seem appear and disappear as a ghost, making loud noises. They appear to "know" what they're doing, as if someone was steering them. And yet, neither of those that were captured or destroyed, had any crew inside. Just the, more or less, damaged car, and glowing crystals it carried.
The worst part, however, is that someone, or something, seems to be making them deliberately. Our abandoned cars are being "awakened", brought to life, and turned against us.
So, if on a dark night you ever hear a squeaking noise of scarping metal, coming from afar, as if some piece of junk was heading your way, and all you can see is a dim bluish glow...
...run. Because it's coming for you.
