Philosophical Babbage takes the second half of its name from Charles Babbage, the originator of the concept of a programmable computer. Thus, this group is at one level about computers and programming and at another about philosophy, but since this is Mod DB on a pragmatic level this group deals with the ins and outs of game design, the philosophy of making and programming games, and the methods and techniques used in any of the areas of the game development process.

Still no jumpstart I think I am going to leave this group ;'(
you need to really jump start this group, fin a video to upload or something, also iv joined
I dunno what to submit or anything :(
Anything happening soon sort of feels this group is dead :(
it was like this with my "the dark ambient group".but after a couple of months of wait and promoting it is finally working, though generally i'm the only one keeping the group active but anyway.
Sounds like this group could present some interesting arguments from a number of perspectives. This more my " area " now than actual programming. I'll have to have a read or two and track for a bit. I hope enough individuals are willing to support it. Great idea !
lawl you left the group gawed this group is dieng xD
thanks for the invitation.i like the concept of the group.i'm really looking forward to seeing how this group will turn out.
side note : right now i'm rereading Solaris and listening to steve roache's "darkest before dawn" to enhance the experience, and iot is working.
Thanks for the invitation but I must go ahead and admit something, I am very philosophical (erh I have my moments) but about the computers and programming thing.. lets just say that I have got more pc skills then the average joe but I don't know That much. This sounds like an interresting group to me though..
Thanks for the comment, I know I mention programming, but I would like to see the group stay at a more abstract level, so that we can deal with ideas and models for different game design strategies. we can always go in later and work out the details from a coding-standpoint (of course it would be nice to see such models applied in code :)
