How to install modifications for Battlefield 2 tutorial - PC Gamers

Wondering how to install modifications?
Here is a intermediate tutorial how to install and running them:
Download the .zip archive which contains the modification you like
Inside you will find typically a readme,screenshots and a folder

1. Raw Installing

Find your Battlefield 2 installation path,default one is:

C:\Program Files (x86 on 64-bit)\EA Games\Battlefield 2

Installation path can be different for everyone
If you forgot where you installed the game,use the "Search" bar to find it (Windows)
Extract the archive into a folder called mods

Here is the path you require:
C:\Program Files (x86 on 64-bit)\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods

Extraction might take a while if the modification is heavy (around 2GB)
Our modification comes with an .exe installer,so you dont need this tutorial
Some modifications based on Origin/CD/Pirated version come with a shotcut to launch the mod
If the game doesn't start,and gives you "BF2.exe wasn't found",please take a look at Game Path
If the game starts,but there is no music and crashes upon clicking "Singleplayer" or "Multiplayer" tab,please check if you correctly written the modification folder name in the shortcut.

To run the modification in Steam Version,you need to use the following settings:
1. Click "Properties"
2. Click "Set Launch Options"
In the empty tab below you write this code for the modifications to work:

+modPath mods/ +fullscreen 1

- folder name you extracted in Battlefield 2/mods

Save the configuration and you are good to go!
If you want to play Battlefield 2/Special Forces again,write these codes:
bf2 - Battlefield 2
xpack - Special Forces

2. Running In-Game

If you dont have a clue about everything from above?
Follow these steps to get the modification running:

1. Click "Community" Tab
2. Click "Custom Games" Tab
3. Select the modification you like to play
4. Click Activate,then in the pop-up OK

This should run your modification easely
But you must perform this operation each time you start Battlefield 2
We recommend using the set-up from upwards
