Check out a brief overview video about the process of game development.

Posted by Noesis_Interactive on Dec 21st, 2010

First off, this is probably NOT a video for you. You are a talented and knowledgeable ModDB/IndieDB community member. You most likely already know about game development and the different steps that are necessary to finish a game. This video is instead aimed at people who know absolutely nothing about making video games. These are people who probably don't have ModDB or IndieDB profiles or even know what they are. This video is going to be more suitable for your little brother, your little grandma, your co-workers, your friends-who-play-games-but-don't-make-games, etc. etc.

Having said that, watch it anyway and let us know what you think. Did we do a decent job? Did we miss anything? You guys are the ones making video games and we value your feedback! Yes, it's true, this video is a form of promotion for design3, but keep in mind that the main goal is to educate non-game developer type people about the art and process of video game creation.

I liked it. It was short and sweet and got necessary points across without rambling on a tangent.
So this is great for people who have absolutely no idea about games development.
Personally, I know and work with alot of people who have zero idea what is involved. I have EXPLAINED the steps to them as simple as I can, and they understand to some extent, however, I think a visual representation of the steps like this video would be much more effective in conveying what happens.

So I think this video is great. Well done guys.

Nice video to watch. Even if I already know the steps.
I would really like to sign up but it is a wee bit too pricy for me. Would've preferred to be able to buy individual tutorials for a set price, rather than having a monthly fee.
With school and whatnot I can't always spend my time watching them and knowing that I got them on my harddrive for whenever I have to for them is better.
