My own army of 5,000 has arrived with Jester's very close behind. We too constructed trebuchets and catapults to destroy the black walls. What little Elves remain in my stead along with my arches join the Gondorians in firing onto the walls trying to hit whichever orc shows its face. They fire with revenge in every shot, anger pulls back the strings. The men will stop at nothing to utterly destroy Saruman and his abominations.

not out of lore, i started a wildfire a while ago when the ents attacked isengard, it was quite a long time ago now that i think about it, so most of the forest around isengard would have been burned down.

the archers stationed on the wall see the enemy coming and release bolts with their crossbows (before you say i was out of range remember that i have the higher ground, and if i can't hit you with arrows then you definitely can't hit me with arrows :P ). the mountain giants inside throw large boulders at the enemy, killing many while destroying a few seige weapons. when the enemy seige weapons hit the walls of isengard, they find they are barely making a dent on the walls, saruman is using his power to strengthen the walls of isengard. the uruks keep firing back while trolls and mountain giants act as seige weapons, along with some ballistae and catapaults.

IC:

Thanks to the trenches, the archers are well covered. The trebuchets keeps firering at the walls of Isengard and some places it starts to weaken. (Its the tower that is almost impenetrable, not the walls mate. They were made long after and by people of lesser skills)

Katapults are destroyed by some of the rocks, but luckily the trebuchets have a far longer range. The archers out side the walls hold their fire on my orders.

I look towards my commander and nods. He goes a little forward and yells.

"Giv'em a volley!"

All the archers fire at once and sends a volley over the wall to target the mountain giants and take many down.

In the meantime, the army continues preparations.

(Much of Sarumans power lies in speech. He can't hold the walls together forever. =P )

but saruman is first of the istaari, therefore a powerful maiar and can use powerful spells, the walls will eventually crumble, but it would take a whole lot more than normal, speech was saruman's most dangerous ability in fact, as he could manipulate the strongest minds, save those of the members of the white council. besides, if i made a speech to your army they may end up fighting amongst themselves, so thanks for the idea :P oh, and mountain giants have pretty much the same range as trebuchets due to their amazing strength.

lol, funny how we are enemies here and allies in another rp.

He WAS one of the most powerful maiar, but according to the book, he spent so much energy on his evil creations in the depths of Isengard that he lost much of his power. (Which was meant for good). That is why he didn't stand a chance against Gandalf when he returned.

Also, Mountain Giants are form the a LotR's game. They never existed in lore. So be happy with what you got and leave mah trebuchets alone! Lol

mountain giants actually do exist in lore, they are mentioned in the hobbit, and are expanded upon in BFME 2, plus, that only happenned to morgoth, saruman simply breeded orcs with men (or whatever) to create uruk-hai, the only reason gandalf owned saruman is because eru iluvitar brought him back from death as a more powerful version of himself.

Wrong. Cirion the shipbuilder gave Gandalf one of the 3 eleven rings because he reckonised that Gandalf was the most powerful of them all and because he knew Gandalf would be the one to fight hardest.

Okay, I yield on the Mountian Giants. I haven't read the Hobbit. I am waiting for the movie first so I don't get disapointet so easiely xD

But it is still stated that they are neutral towards other races and alliances with other races were very rare. And they were very few in numbers.

*My army of 6000 come into view, and the Rohan war horn sound. Increasing the morale in the soldiers.

Seeing the main forces already attacking Isengard, I look at my captain and give him a nod

Captain: "Fire everything we have beyond the walls towards those giants and Orcs or Uruk-hai!"

With that order thousands of archers and then hundreds of catapuls and trebuchets fire aswell killing many aswell, they then turn there attention towards the walls.

"Men of Rohan now is our time to shine CHARGE!!!"

I aim my sword foward and advance followed by thousands of Riders and foot soldiers. The archers stay behind.

As we charge foward we make sure we don't get to close to the enemy giants throwing stone (The stone I mean xD)*

The uruks see the rohirrim and fire apon them before they can react (higher ground therefore greater range) killing many. The ballistae fire at points marked with smoke arrows fired by the orcs and goblins, which are catapaults and trebuchets, destroying many as well. The urk crossbowmen simply fire at the rohirrim as they charge at the wall, killing many of the fools, (seriously, how did you expect to get in without a battering ram?). The uruks, orcs and goblins are doing the same to the gondorian and other rohirrim positions.

My men ready themselves for the final impact that will bring the wall down. Our artillery fire onto the cracked portion of the wall, creating further damage to it an the orcs behind it. The elves fire on the pikeman knowing they are spaced from the wall and the dwarves are ready on the frontlines with their axes sharpened, many with ones to throw.

"Men. Elves. Dwarves. For weeks you have suffered the loss of family, friends and your very homes. Remember them. Remember that they will be watching over you, guiding you to the path of victory! Remember they will be waiting for you if your time is to pass and they'll welcome you with open arms for your true bravery and valour on this day. Those beasts behind the wall will have no mercy, they will try to strike you down as they have done many times. Aye, they have tried to strike you down, but have faith for you SHALL strike them down! Be ready my brothers. Draw your swords and follow me to the realm of victory!"

IC: the ballistae and catapaults fire on the incoming seige towers as the men are getting to close to allied forces. while a lot of pikemen are taken down by arrows most survive due to their thick armor. they see the cavalry incoming and dismount them easily with their long pikes, the enemy archers are also fired upon by uruk crossbowmen and orc archers while the goblin archers fire on the cavalry and dwarves that are nearby. 2000 warg riders rush through the cavalry and attack the men and dwarves, cutting down many with their speed and ferocity.

The dwarves' thick, strong armour holds up as they crush skulls of the wargs charging towards them, matching the beasts' strength with their big boned statures. They continue charging past the wargs and head to the pikemen, knowing the pikes will have little effect on their size and armour. The Elves follow close behind firing few arrows at both wolf and rider, while the many men slay what wargs they can before pressing on and reaching the breach. I charge with my men slaying two wolves before continuing to the wall.

*The calvary protect the battering rams (2) and they soon make it to the gate, with the help of alot of men they batter the gate down taking few casualties, as the pike men (?) behind the gate raise there pikes the men rush in with a few volleys of arrows supporting them.

The archers focus their attention on the enemy archers taking many out but also taking casualties supported by this are catapults and Trebuchets and kill many enemies, they then focus their power on Sarumens tower hoping to bring it down (I know nearly impossible to bring that thing down but meh..)*

*Most of the siege towers reach the walls along with the ladders. The 3000 strong force of line infamtry clips up the ladders and towers. I myslef clip up on a tower near the gate. I watch the the room on top of the Siege tower fills up. The ramps falls down, but Uruk Crosbows are ready and fire into the tower, killing dozens. I charge out onto the Uruks, slowly reloading their Crossbows, with my personal Guard behind me we wuickly slay the band of Uruks. I give orders to the men o fht esiege towers to clear the walls so more can join. I myself proceeds to the gate tower with a few men and engages the Guards stationed there.

The Calavlry force breaks through the pikemen with the help of my allies, although with heavy casualties. The 1500 remaining riders stil on horses rally nerby away from the pikemen. As per my orders they now flank the forces guarding the gate from behind and quickly routs them, allowing for Jesters troops the enter Isenguard.

Okay okay... Lets get thins straight here to clear things up.

- Almost no forest left. This leaves wide open fields.
- I Send 500... 500.. Ithilien Rangers, some of the best special troops you will find among humans to look out for reinforcements and give me breathing room to form up defenses. You make them look like amatuers.. Lol
- I had 1000 soldiers in camp, and 2000 archers nearby. The Camp have been fortified all around with stakes and trenches.

I can agree to loosing the Ithilien Archers, but I would have had time to from up my Fiefdom troops and archers to support the camp defenses..

Alright, this is getting late and I have a long day tomorrow. You guys can think about this in the meantime.

*Tairsh sliced the Itilians Rangers throat before he could react. The Rangers corpse fell to the floor, making a lovely "thud" as it hit it. He turned to see the bodies of around 10 other Rangers dead. They must of killed over 50 by now. Tarish presumed this was jsut the advance guard, though, and that more were waiting. He turned to see something moving in the bushes. He frowned, readying his sword. Suddenly a shout broke out. Tarish cursed and threw the sword with extreme precision at the bushes, and the shout ceased. He rushed over their, taking the sword out of the Ranger that had been hiding in them. He cursed again. Suprise had been taken away from them. He shouted at the Orc Commander, who then shouted at the main army. They charged.*

*5,000 Orcs emerged from where they had been hiding, quite a way away. 50 of them fell to the first volley of arrows shot by the Rangers. The Orcs charged still. 100 more fell to the second volley. The Orcs kept on charging. 200 more fell to the third volley. The Orcs ran, shouting their War Cries. 250 fell to the fourth wave. Their wasn't a fifth volley. The Orcs swarmed over some of the Rangers whilst they reloaded, about 20 of them and slaughtered them. They rushed over to the rest of the Rangers, but they were already running to the camp. The Orcs came to an abrupt halt.*

*Tarish ordered pikes and defenses be made out of the burnt wood. He had lost nearly 1,000 Orcs to those damned Rangers. He looked around, seeing the Orcs setting up their small camp. Piked had been made, set up in a cercle around the temporary camp. Wood had been made into small baricades, to protect them from arrows. Tarish knew he could not take the camp without massive casulties. He might not even be able to take the camp. Judging from the camp, they had at least 1,500 Archers, maybe more. The Orcs would be slaughtered. He ordered his Archers, of which he had 1,500, to begin sending volleys into the camp, to at least try and eliminate some of the humans inside or make them take cover.*

the pure strength of the uruks is enough to cut thriugh the dwarves despite their thick armor, and the crossbowmen get into prone postions on the wall to fire on those at the breach in the wall while being protected from any enemy archers. the pikemen hold their ground, unhorsing many rohirrim, as this was one of their main purposes. the trolls picked up rubble from the wall and threw it at the oncoming forces, crushing many while killing a few allies in the process. saruman himself began to conjure massive fireballs and launched them at the enemy with extreme precision, they exploded on contact and killed many. he also launched lightning from his hands which chained through the ranks of the enemy, being manipulated by him. at the sight of the dwarves the uruk deathbringers charged in, they slaughtered many and they went on without stoping, slashing left and right, killing all in their path, not even the dwarves could stand up to the savagery of the deathbringers. beserkers attacked as well though they were defeated quickly du to their lack of armor.

OOC: I didn't send any Rohirrim onto the breach and the dwarves are naturally able to handle things like deathbringers with their own strength, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be slaughtered by them.

IC:The dwarves smash into the pikemen guarding the breach slaying the first line, then a stong battle ensues with the deathbringers and beserkers. Arrows fly over our heads as I follow closely with a massive band of infantry furiously charging at the breach. I see the siege towers reaching the walls and Jester's men battering down the gate which gives me faith.

Slicing open one uruk-hai I see Cronus fighting on the walls and calling down to Jester. My men swarm into the breach, flanking the defenders or climbing onto the walls to help Cronus fight off the archers. I see a large force manning the main gate. Taking about twenty elven archers we fire into the orcs hoping to confuse and worry them as Jester's men break down the gate.

Description

The Northern Army of Gondor is the first to arrive. From the forest I move on top of an overlooking cliff and gaze upon the Black tower of the White wizard. Orthanc.. Constructed by the Numenoreans of old, its black rock that looks like it was carved from the mountain by a giant stands tall, and impenetrable.

From the forest line emerges the army of Gondor.

A Force of 3000 Line Infantry, 1000 Fiefdom forces and Men at Arms, 2000 archers, 500 Rangers and 2500 riders set up camp.

The Fiefdom force begins the construction of Siege towers and Trebuchets out of wasted wood left behind by the orc to defy the forest. The Ranger moves into the forest where they keep guard against enemy forces seeking to flank the army. The rest of the army begins to fortifies the camp with stakes and trenches at the camp perimeter, allowing for defense against counter attacks.

OOC: Its a little late for starting a battle, so I figure we can spend a night building equipment. :P Unless pain is interested in doing a counter attack now >:D

btw. the guy in the pic, will be my char. Still need a name for him though.. Suggestions?
