The Metal appreciation society is quite simply put a group where all us metalheads can share our love of different bands. This group is for recommendations, reviews and comments on all things metal! Also if you are in a band and want to introduce your band by adding a track on here then go ahead. PLEASE NO MUSIC THAT IS UNDER COPYRIGHT - I'm just a guy who loves metal and wants to share it with others I don't want to get sued!

Hi to you all !

I'm not a rock or metal music listening person but i thought it would be a good idea to try to understand and listen to this genre of music too

So i wonder what you would recommend to a person like me
I listen to a ton of house , club , dance , 90s music btw

I salute you all and Rock on !

I think you should start with well known heavy metal.
Examples: Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas priest, Motörhead
Rock: I actually like Tenacious D (Jack Black's band) very much.
And maybe Halestorm (hardrock)
Ho, and if you like some Irish sounding music you could try Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys.
Hope you enjoy ;)

Thanks a lot !

I discovered this band Youtube.com
and i quite like their style

I got no idea how sub genres would be named but let's say i like more strong stuff or very strong stuff

I listened some Metallica , Marilyn Manson , Godsmack , Jon Bon Jovi and Rob Zombie but few songs here and there , then some terrorcore
This is all i can remember now

I know all the first four bands you mentioned , it seems they are iconic
Irish rock never listened but i listened to celtic music instead
like this Youtube.com

Thanks again for all :)

-Butcher Babies Youtube.com
-Arch Enemy Youtube.com
-The Agonist Youtube.com
maybe Eths Youtube.com
And for some lighter stuff: Crucified Barbara Youtube.com
(These are all examples of female fronted bands)
If you like to hear about some more brutal bands don't hesitate to ask me ;)

Black Sabbath - Iron Man Youtube.com
Judas Priest - Breaking The Law Youtube.com
Motorhead - Brotherhood Of Man Youtube.com
Tenacious D - Kickapoo Youtube.com
Halestorm - I Am The Fire Youtube.com

Sure

Butcher Babies i like for their brutality and anger of both song and performance
Arch Enemy because they are Underworldly like vampiric and the melodious part of songs is really good
The Agonist because they are expressive and not looking like dark performers but more like elves but strong songs for certain ,portraying mostly physical torment i think
Eths are something a touch religious , portraying psychic torment i think and the melodious part is a touch scary but really good
Crucified Barbara first for the name - that's a daring name alright , then for being an all female band too , cool guitars and portraying dangerous behaviour , murder too perhaps

Surely i did not describe them correctly but i like to understand the meaning of things too

I like them all alright They own !!

\M/ Me too

These are also really cool and expressive but more oriented towards specific cultures than mainstream and perhaps less understandable by other cultures

Really good stuff anyhow and thanks again

Not at all! But it's a difficult question for me :)
I listen to a lot of different genres so...
First (metal):
Amon Amarth (Odin approved XD), Arch Enemy (some old but mostley new), Parkway Drive (the only metalcore band i like), Alestorm and Powerwolf, Sabaton, Battle Beast (for running mostly)
-Also some folk metal: Equilibrium, Ensiferum, Eluveitie
Sometimes I listen to good old heavy and thrash metal
But I am also a: Punk, (Hard)rock, Punkrock and also a litle bit Oi! fan.
Bands: Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Casualties, Halestorm
Favorite songs:
-Johnny i hardly knew ya (Dropkick Murphys)
-Blut im auge (Equilirium)
-No gods no masters (Arch Enemy)
-and many other's from wich i can't choose ;)
Also my favorite guitar piece in a song is through the fire in to the flames... I love that record man! :)
And I hope to find some new songs/bands :)
