Switching to a new doctor can be a difficult transition. Its like getting a new pair of shoes or some such.
I'm not sure if you get used to it after a few regenerations - most of the new fan base have only done this 3 times now.
Or if after Davidson took over from Tom Baker - I just said "**** it, never gonna be the same..."
For me, so far, I can say only one episode of the 6 out now didnt warm both hearts.
As a long time fan, I'd say Capaldi is carrying the torch very well.
After all - its not often you get Tom B. or a Tennant.
Now, if we can just get a fresh companion..,
