The most interesting that it has magazine reloading system, like common Mosin rifle. Such saw-offs are handicraft, and to make bursting effect for this weapon, true arms lovers saw off the heads of it's bullets, or sometimes at all empty them from gunpowder and fill the bullets with small nails.

Shrapnel-Bullet.
As a Russian Fanatic,
Can the Mosin still fire even sawn off like that?

It still shoots, and moreover it's rifles are still in service of Russian army. As to the saw-offs, mostly they are figurants (often figurants) in criminal gunplays.

Description

You thought only shotguns can be saw-off? Not half. Here is saw-off Mosin rifle. His history is much more interesting than his characteristics :) It was in mass use among (I'm sure that you don't know about some {or the most} of these dudes): kulaki, counter-revolutioners, rebels, bandits, White army rebels, bolshevik partisans, "green brothers", mahnovtzi, antonovtzi, Red army partisans, banderovtzi, etc. Thousands of these toys are still in use...
