Come to think of it, the massive human reaper didn't make the slightest bit of sense either...
bioware needs to hire some new people to make good endings for their damn story lines.
I don't know about you but I was screaming TERMINATOR when I saw the proto-human reaper.
Really? Because I was reminded more of an X-Men Sentinel. Maybe the MRD is expanding it's operations?
Well, the reapers make reapers of the ones that were not reapers. That makes reapers reap future reapers into reapers. I hope this makes more sense.

So why all the reapers looks like the same? I highly doubt that all the aliens before the Proteans were Beatles and Squids.
And looks like a scrapped ending for the third game would explain the reason of the human reaper. But that was replaced by 3 colors...

It does. Human Reaper was "larva" small as destroyer. When completed, it would be typical octopus.
