The Fellowship

Is an unofficial J.R.R. Tolkien fan group that brings every fan together from his great works in the Middle-Earth universe!
Though it has been opend for everyone, there are still some conditions you need to meet...

They're basic but just so you know:

- Be polite to everyone, even if you don't like him/her
- As everyone who joins this group begins as a Soldier (notify the group leader or manager he will take care of this).
- you can become something else if you just be very active here and only ask to one of the group leaders you must be active though so make clear you are noticed.
- You can discuss about anything IF it doesn't get out of hands!

The group leaders is,
- LOTRuler

The group manager is,
- moddlord1

The rest you can think yourself, so a whole list is not necessary!

Everyone who has some interesting news about a Lord of the Rings game, movie or book, please tell!
So we all are updated on the interesting events of Middle-Earth.

So don't think about joining this group....
Just do it!

- The Fellowship Team.

I'm asking an honest question, no need to be downvoted. I was looking for an actual intellectual discussion, not trying to incite unrest. I was not impressed with the last hobbit film and I wanted to know other's feelings on the film

Well it was rather good I liked it the problem is it could have been much more better!!!To little time spend on the BATLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES and too much time for the pointless side hero Alfrid it just didn't felt right so much time for him and comedy in this kind of Movie!!Dain got almost no screen time and backstory due to the BIG plot changes PJ did he is introduced as some minor character some fodder dwarven lord cousin of Thorin!!!NO mentioning of him becoming a king and being heir and descendent of Durin!!They didnt even show Tohrin and Fili and Kilis funerals~!!It just needs more scrren for Dain more battle less Alfrid just bigger scale and time for the battle itself!!

You have to admit, It could have ended so much better. It doesn't even explain what happens to Bard and Dale and Erebor after the battle is over, Bilbo just leaves and the film ends. Which is far from the ending in the book.

Yes an open ending for some. but do NOT compare the movies with the books, the movies are made for people between 10 and 35 of age mostly. Like people said the hobbit book was for children but tolkien said it was not. Question if the movie was the same as the books would it not be boring if you allready know the books?

Commissar_Delta Jan 9 2015 replied:

My view of the fun in Peter Jackson's films is watching the events of the books come to life on the big screen and despite some minor things (IE Tom Bombadil, The use of the army of the dead, the Galahdrim's aid to Rohan at Helm's Deep, etc) the Lord of the Rings films stayed pretty true to the books. After seeing Unexpected journey, I thought they were going to do the same but by the end of Desolation of Smaug, it became clear that they weren't. SO to answer your question, no it wouldn't have been boring if it had stayed true to the books. The entertainment value for that one person in the theater who actually read book is seeing it played out in front of their very eyes.

You said the last movie sucked so much,so i wanted to know why you said that Now i understand what you did not like, but allmost no books to movie is exactly the same. And you saw they changed things in the other movies also so you could expect changed things. And maybe with a little open ending they can make another hobbit movie.

Sucked no its just PJ made some unnessery changes to the Plot that weren't needed thats all!!As for LOTR I too like them they havee been quite true to the Books well some changeswere due to th time limit for a Movie!!I didnt lie the missing Battle of Dale(which is so important if it was lost Men would have lost later too despite there vicotry at first),the missing battle in Lorien and Mirkwood!!Using the Dead at Minas Tirith but still the Movies were great and will always be! :)

Just some little mistakes besides he said himself that the last hobbit was his favorite. Not sure if that's true but I love them all, some better than others (:
