did you guys know: that tolkien refers mordor to germany because in his time 'the threat' came from the east just like mordor in his story.
no offense though just sayin' ;)
You have a point there, though I would connect Germany with Numenor, a land of once brave men corrupted by Saurons evil spirit (-> Hitler). thus doomed to fall ;-)

Yeah i was gonna say... He wrote the books about his experiences in WWI so technically Germany would be Mordor.
Tolkien was actually very specific to point out that the events of Middle Earth held absolutely no connection with the events Europe during the world wars.
