[UPDATE] - Per 7 Feb 2016 the AWESOME moderators of ModDB removed USER PROFILE ADS! This means this pack is back and running and is completely supported again!
[OUTDATED] PER 4 FEB 2016 THIS IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED - I kept the guide up just for the source images | A nice guide with images how to make your profile look like mine, or even better! Customize moddb like never before! This version includes new codes like Full paged backgrounds and social site icons!
Welcome to How To ModDB 2.0! Let's say this version is as new as the codes in it! I've revamped it a bit with the use of some asset codes on the web and a site template. I modified it completely to fit my view of a tutorial oriented off-line guide.
There are 2 folders inside this tutorial. Please don't redistribute this, just use the new link system instead! :)
When you unpack the contents to your HDD, run the "run_tut.bat" and it will guide you trough the process. The only thing you'll need is the resources folder, because this folder contains all resources use in this tutorial (apart from HTML images which can be found in the Tutorial/Img folder)
User Agreement / License
Please read the user-agreement as it states some rules when applying these codes to your profile. All I want is for users to customize their page, but when it looks bad I'll make it my duty to fix it because I'll be the person responsible for your "broken" page. Moderators won't hesitate to remove the content from your profile.
Also, when Using this tutorial, please follow the Policy and ModDB rules. Don't link to 3rd party M rated sites, don't use obscene image like rape, death, murder etc. Keep it civil, this is mainly meant to improve the personalisation of someone's page in a professional matter.
Hope you like it! And if you run into any problems, just be sure to PM message me ;)
About time! :D
awesome :D
And here. We. Go.
:D
Nice, Very nice!
Does this by any chance fix the customized page not working as it should on Desura/IndieDB/SlideDB?
No, that's not a moddb issue or anything else. The layout (css) for mod, slide and indiedb are different, same for desura. If you'd like it to look good on all, my best recommendation is not to edit anything :\
Hah, I recall saying a similar thing to you a while back. But yeah, the different sites have different levels at which they support modification making this type of modifying something I wouldn't recommend doing for most people.
Anyone who now visits your Indie DB profile will be left wondering what on earth went on here, CSS: Global Modification maybe xD
It's a real shame. =/
True, a real shame indeed
After launching the bat file and it opens in the browser, I clicked pers. page and then step 1
The first few images in step 1 have duplicates.
Something is going on with your jquery. It is making the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th slide duplicate.
It actually happens when I run step 2 or step 3. So it must be part of the code that is looping the first few slides.
Yes, after checking I concluded that it binds the images both to the Numbers (1 t/m 6) and the Image thumbnails themselves. Mistake on my part, should have done the same as with the rest of the code and place the text after the link :)
Thanks!
No problem.
Thank you very much friend
I tried a lot of things but this one killed me
Why tutorial is so big?
