2D:
We’ve continued our work on the House system but 3D has some more impressive shots of how it’s turning out. Today, we just wanted to show off a few more cool concepts that we’ve been working on that have been sent to 3D for modeling. We’re hoping to get this new meaner clockroach added! Gotta love this dwarf too.

We’re also working on the steamhauler (train) level concepts but we’ll share more of that next week in the New Year! The GUI editor is a definite blessing and we’ve finished the first batch of layouts that involve the quest system and it is really coming along. The editor has really sped everything up but we’ve just sent a list of modifications that should make it even easier for us to complete these tasks. We’re really liking the design aspects of creating the GUI.

3D:
We really think you’ll like this week’s sneak peak as we’ve been talking about the House system so much these past few weeks but only shown bits and pieces. This week we can show off some decorated rooms, this is where your character could make his or her humble beginnings!

Some of the interior steamhauler concepts have been given to us to check out and model but we’ll show it off next week along with 2D’s concepts to show you how it all progressed.

SFX:
Currently, we have spent most of the time on developing and experimenting new effects, as well as coordinating with Coding. Unity 3.5 was released recently, so we’ve been set to task learning about the new features. After our few New Year’s holiday days off, the new effects will be implemented — Character of Action Model effects. We’ve done lots of preparation and referencing, after all, we’re trying to pioneer the boundaries of browser game graphic performance.

The major problem in question is that nobody knows where the resource limit is; it will take a lot of testing. This is the first time we’ve used these new resources but we’ll try our best but some trial and error will definitely occur!
As New Year’s is approaching, we wish you a happy New Year!

The following screenshots show off 3 skills, Control Trigger Magic and Radiance.

Ever though of making Train compartments into player housing that they can upgrade for benefits and item storage? The house could also enable a mobile bank/fast travel vehicle from different unlocked points in the game (It is a stationary model in a set place, and normally yuou can have rubble in it's place until a play purchases/upgrades their personal cart, then the rubble (On their screen) gets replaced with their personal train car that they can enter) Think the traveling services in morrowind.

Actually, we have thought of some form of that. Having ways of getting to specific dungeons (trap-doors) from within a player's house. Haven't thought of an actual train compartment as a player housing though, that's an interesting idea!
The trains in the open city scenes will be able to transport players to other parts of the city (a.k.a other scenes) btu we can always think of this idea. Quite interesting.
