A group dedicated to displaying and showcasing indepdent and stand-alone games, or people who just have a hobby creating them.

The goal of this group is to talk about the future of indie development, to review in-development or release indie/standalone projects, and bring the indie devs into a social group.

Perhaps something to learn from Blood Frontier devs (little known, it seems):

Quote:1: Don't release something before it's done.
2: Every Project Has a Shelf Life.
3: Stay Flexible in Your Implementation.
4: Cowboy Coding is Wrong.
5: Use Placeholders.
6: Good Assets Take Time.
7: Create re-usable assets.
8: Make Deadlines and Project Plans
9: DO NOT STAY QUIET.
10: Communicate WELL. Avoid IRC and Chat Channels.
11: DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT
12: Do NOT Upgrade ANYTHING That Already Works.
13: Community Comes Last

What do you think?

An excellent no nonsense list of common sense points feillyne. Perhaps they should all be section headers in an indie dev's SOP ( Standard Operating Procedure ) Manual.

Well it makes sense... I've seen a bunch of topics appear and die within the month, just because they don't have any content.

Well, I'm glad I found this group! Didn't seem like there were any indie dev groups. I'll stick around and see what's up.

Hi all! I'm just another indie who just joined in :)
I just wanted to say hello. I have no game to show off...
but I'm currently developing a 4-player platformer-RPG for the XBOX 360.
I'll post some videos and blog updates as soon as I have some time.

Hey guys, I just joined the group. Been working on my side project Break Blocks for over a year now, when I'm not too busy working on Killing Floor or Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad for my employer, Tripwire Interactive.

If ya got a sec, I'd appreciate you checking out our game: Indiedb.com

I was wondering if the gross majority of this group's members work on FPS games. Is that true?
