this is a group, (like the tank and aircraft lovers) is dedicated to the IFV (infantry fighting vehicle) like the BMP-2 the M2A2 bradly and so on and so forth, from made up to real life, and anything in between. from treads to wheels to hover, this is for all you people who enjoy those rumbling rolling armored vehicles, that when on the target drop their ramps to emit a large group of infantry. of course they did, most german armoured vehicles back then were named after some kind of cat.

Still, this look pretty advanced for the time. I mean on first glance i thought it was a modern afv :S

I agree it looks advanced for its time, comparable to a modern design.

Which is not a surprise for German Weapon concepts.

You are right. This is not the 'KÄTZCHEN' ('kitty'). This is the Schützenpanzerwagen 'BÜFFEL' ('buffalo'), Prototyp: E50S. It was not only the first modern style APC. It was actually the first real ICV. It was intent to operate together with Panther and Tiger.

The word "Kätzchen" is derived from "Katze" which is the German noun for "Cat".
