I remember watching some Finnish children's gameshow a few years back. There were 2 teams of three, each of them were third graders, and they were on the last question. The winning team would get sh*t load of candy. This is what happened:
Host: "What is the capital of the United States of America? Is it
A. New York
B. Los Angeles
C. Washington DC
D. Chicago?"
Then one of the kids in the other team whispered very, very loudly: "It definetly is not Washington!". They answered New York. They lost. That was the last time watched that show. I still have traumas.

I saw something worse than this in Brazil. It was a kind of Wipeout style program and in the end of the obstacle course, they had to answer the question correctly.
The first person to arrive got 4 tips:
-It´s an European country.
-In the past invaded Brazil. (on this one I was almost sure that it was Dutchland)
-Land of Flowers and Windmills. (I was sure that it was Dutchland)
-Eliminated Brazil on the last World Cup (note: Brazilians are soccer fanatics)
She said Spain.
The second got an extra tip: In the cup final, lost to Spain. He said Frace. (facepalm)
The last person got even one more tip: Their language is Dutch. And inacreditably she said Italy!!! (triple facepalm on the floor)
