Very true...
Wrong, you always want to patch vulnerabilities. That said Skype is a steaming pile of **** that has more security holes than Swiss cheese and no amount of patching it is going to change that.
What you patch on skype is adding a new useless function and new pack of advertisements, unless you know how to block it.
This rule applies to various software, typically graphic card drivers.
