Actually any Star Wars fan worth his salt has researched this and knows that:

Phase 1 Clone Trooper armor was restrictive and did not over great protection.
Phase 2 Clone Trooper armor was an improvement and gave far better protection.
Stormtrooper armor was designed for different species and I believe it was at a cost of protection, however the armor dispenses the energy from a blaster shot.

In the movies the main characters use lightsabers which can cut through durasteel or they use sporting blasters which can fell large animals. Then we have the dreaded Stormtrooper effect to make what is actually the best military in the Star Wars galaxy look like expendable henchmen.

Spread awareness so we can put an end to the outright wrong idea that Stormtroopers are inferior to teddy bears.

Ori´verda, thank you for enlightening us. This common mistake has now been corrected and the Humor Satire and Parody group is a better place for it.
I had up to this point never even heard of these facts and you have made me realize the complex evolution and structure of the Empire.
I take my hat of to you sir. =)

Now will you do us and yourself a favor an get a life.

sporting blasters? you mean those blaster rifles that the protagonists take from downed stormtroopers in the original trilogy, the ones that are actually - wait for it - military guns made for killing people? i thought sporting blasters that 'can fell large animals' were those, you know, long rifles used on Tatooine, especially by the sand people?

I suspect my high level on ModDB comes mainly from this group but it even more importantly so gives me the imaginary right to correct your spelling. It's "Your" and not "You're". =P

Phase 2 clone Armour was exactly the same as Phase 1, just the helmets were different and had air tubes so they can breath in space.

Did you know storm trooper armor had shields built in the armor but hardly any one used them because they did not read the manual and they also had power gloves to increase their strength.
