Sounds like something the Fins would do.
Maybe all neighbors of Sweden want to do it. :D
Well, given how history went, not all that surprising really.
That is not to say that Swedish rule was utter crap, sure it was no picnic but then again what was at that time and you had to go through a lot longer period than us, we got quite a few social improvements as well. Though given how specifically our history went, any sort of improvement gives nice bonus points.
The Swedish rule was definitely a better option. Any other result in the medieval age would have inevitably lead to Finland being ruled by the lords of Moscow until today.
One dreads to imagine.
Both the Baltic and the Scandinavian regions would have most likely suffered greatly ... although speculating on the 'what if-s' is a sketchy business.
