Reason why I didn't have a profile picture for well over a year of my membership on moddb. It's hard work trying to find a good one and switching later on always confuses people until they get used to it so I don't plan on switching it in the near future.
How to change your profile picture? On your profile page (which you can get to by clicking on your name at the top of any Moddb page) there should be a tab to the right with the heading "Profile." Next to the header there should be two little icons, one of which reads "Edit profile."
From there you can change all sorts of stuff regarding your profile ^_^

I usually identify people by their pictures
and i usually change it every year or so once i get over what i have
