Not just Americans, I've sometimes been called a nazi (not directly but kind of) because I have an ancestor which moved to Sweden in the beginning of the 19th century, long before Hitler was even born... And I agree with you, people cannot judge the current population of being nazis, since most of them was not even born by that time when it was "Hitlerland"
