Economy class flights are terrible and bad for your health. You can get a blood clot if your sitting still for to long. (To not lose anyone I'm not going to explain everything) The basic reason for it is that you only have 1 heart and blood in your legs doesn't have enough pressure to get back to the heart which is where movement comes in since moving your legs "squeezes" the blood up your legs. Moving your toes or your foot is often enough to get blood flowing though but nothing beats actually getting up and walking a bit.
What exactly would "once in a while mean"? (How many hours) I should also add that it's not that dangerous unless you have been sitting for quite a long time and it also depends on how healthy you are and what kind of medication are you on if any. There is often multiple things at work and as long as yor at least moving your legs every few mins and maybe getting up every 60-90mins you should be fine. Keep in mind I could be wrong I'm not all knowing and I was wrong in the past so the best way to know something for certain is to research it yourself.

and that is why i am always moving my legs even when i sit down
I don't know about you but I get up to go to the bathroom once in a while.
