Seriously, theres barely any good Horror-Mods, and there should be.  this, in short, is a group for all the gamers who feel left out of the mod-playing communities just because its hard to make or find something scary.

Dead Rising 2 isn't a horror game. I hear it's a little fun, but it's definately not worth discussing for it's atmosphere or scare factor or immersion, that's for sure.

I agree, even Resident Evil isnt much of a horror series. The Remake i thought was a tad scary at first, but that was because the areas i once knew had been changed, and i was dealing with new-ai'd zombies, and the same crappy camera angles. (Combines the old crap angles that block u from seeing enemies, with new heightened AI and more tank-like movement)

I have to disagree with you also. :P The creature design this time around was much more horrid, and that, along with the sanity loss in darkness +visual/audio distortions (although cheap sometimes) and better sound design added to a ridiculous amount of intensity. While later in the game I admit it became predictable when a baddie would appear, the mid and early stages are pretty freakin scary.

I'll never forget the time I was first spotted by a brute; the shrill tone in your ears along with dancing vision as I booked it for the door without looking back. All I heard was my guy panicking and running for his life along with the excited, guttural moans of my assailant. I was killed in one hit about 5 feet from safety. XD

Hey, everyone's different, I'm not going to bash what you do or do not enjoy in horror. To me amnesia felt too scripted and relied too much on the dark. I do agree that some elements were amazing (The music, the monster design, and one or two scenes stuck heavily to my mind) but the overall consistent package was, to me, lacking.

Take for example the design of the monster encounters. If you look at one your guy goes crazy slowly. If you hide in the darkness anywhere, your guy goes crazy slowly. If you run you'll probably die. It's a catch-22 to me, it feels half implemented. When both hiding, and looking at, the monsters causes the same negative impact, one realizes that just dying and respawning removes the monster from the level entirely.

Immersion breaking gameplay choices like this ruin it for me. Call of Cthulhu and Eternal Darkness did insanity much better to me. Amnesia was decent, but not great. Penumbra is still my all time favorite.
