Hey mates, Gunship here, again. It's been a while since i made last news about the mod, so here you go, latest stuff in one news : more particles, sounds and effects!
So, what's new?
1) More Particles :
- Diffirent Explosions for diffirent stuff,
- Redesigned Muzzleflashes,
- Particle Tracers,
- Gauss Gun Particles,
- Gluon Gun Particles,
- Prototype Rifle Particles,
- New Blood Particles,
- Redesigned Impact FX Particles.
- A lot of misc particles.
2) New Guns :
- Prototype Rifle,
- Gluon Gun ( Egon ),
- Gauss Gun.
3) Shader Effects :
- Sunrays,
- Vignette,
- Near Death Post Shader,
- On Screen Edge Bluring.
4) Slow Motion :
- With own Shader effects,
- With own Sounds effects.
Other notes : If you hate new shader effects you can simply disable them by console commands.

The constant blurring of the side of the screen are a bit much. Rest is awesome.
I agree, you should lower the blur on the edge of the screen a little. Also, I think you should lower the amount of sun rays. Other than that, it's looking good.

It's obvious that you've done a lot of work here, and it looks great!
BUT, it's also obvious that you've been using SMOD as basis for this.

Damn, I find this kind of behaviour disgusting.
You're almost as bad as the guys who made the "Platinum Arts Sandbox", which was pretty much just an UI edit of the amazing and open-sourced Cube 2 Engine.

The slow-mo, the bullet-blurring, the hand-held gauss gun, the blurring of the perifery of your vision, the gibbing?
The laser (which you have made a new and wonderful animation for) even leaves the exact same red texture dots (second video, 6:50-6:54).
It all looks exactly like SMOD.

These guys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TX6NZQF6RfU did the same as you; they just refused to give credit to SMOD despite changing much less than you (they even kept the Gordon kick, the shields and the super elites).
I don't see why you can just give credit to people who've done a great deal of good work, which you've improved upon?

No, I'm not trolling. I find it very hard to believe that you made all this from bottom up, when much of this was already available, and the explosion distortion-effect from SMOD is even visible in one of your previous videos.
If you indeed made all this by yourself, that is commendable, but it doesn't look like it.
Okay, let's start :
First of all that makes you wrong at 100% - SMOD is not Open Source mod, only you can do - replace current weapons ( WITHOUT ADDING ANY NEW EFFECTS ) and change sprites.
I am using OB Particle systems - SMOD using Built in HL2 PS, because SMOD was made even before OB Update. As you can see in my vids - i am constantly changing blood effect, it always diffirent. Now say to me - where you saw diffirent blood effect in SMOD? Oh, yes, it's always the same.

SMOD does not have Gluon Gun, it's impossible to make it using SMOD script system.

SMOD was build on Source 2006 Engine, which does not support new OB Particle systems which i am using in my mod.

About Red Dots from ProtoGun ( Which impossible to make at SMOD Script system also ) Take a look at Stalker beam when he attack you/combine balls, oh! What is that! HOLY **** HALF-LIFE 2 IS BASED ON SMOD NOOOO )
TL;DR It's default half-life 2 effect.

You know that it's not really hard to make similarish effect. Also SMOD distortion effect is sightly better and diffirent than mine.

Explosion Effects :
As you can see, Rockets, Genades and Barrels using diffirent effects in my mod, now plese, show me any SMOD mod or even SMOD which have diffirent explosions for stuff.
Okay, i can give more stuff, let me make conclusion :
You're obviously don't have any basic knowledge about Source Engine, you are pretending to be a smart here, but you aren't. If you trying to troll - your "mission" is failed. If you are here to "defend" your favorite mod - i have nothing against giving credits ( look at my main page ), but i won't give any because i am not using any of the smod stuff here. Get your facts straight before making such noice here. I am done with you.

I know that SMOD is not open-source, but that hasn't stopped people from making a huge number of new renditions of it. Effectively modding the mod.
I also know that SMOD came out long before OB, and that's why I assumed you had made a sort of "port" of SMOD over to the new shader and particle system (which would've been a feat in itself, but still warranting credit towards the original creator). If that's not the case, I'm sorry for lashing out at you, but I see this kind of **** here way too often, and I really don't like it.
Also, I don't know what you mean by "gluon gun", but I know that SMOD has the handheld gauss.
Also, again, I do appreciate the huge amounts of work you've clearly done here, regardless.
And, again, no I'm not a troll. This is not how you troll someone, son.
To make a "port" you need to have Source Code, is that hard to understand? And how the hell you saw port here? Because distortions/Red Dots/Gauss/Simple Gibbing? Awesome.

almost a year later and this still makes me incredibly angry
