Description
Its quite clear people are pissed and tired of the system being rigged. As long as you aren't part of the establishment and seem honest, your positions don't matter too much.
Be it Trump saying the occasional obvious truth, like 9/11 happening on Bush's watch or Sanders waging a political revolution to expunge corporate money from campaigns, people want leaders who acknowledge reality.
It's an angry time we live in, and in an angry time the people do not want to be lectured on how they suck, they want someone to channel their rage and frustration.
Actually a good historic parallel was the US during the late 1970s/early 1980s, you know, the reason that Jimmy Cater ended up being a one term president and how President Reagan kinda reescalated the Cold War with his "Evil Empire" rhetoric and "Star Wars" SDI project.
