Communism is beautiful in theory. However its execution has been and is less than desirable. In a perfect world, Communism would be far better in terms of ease of application. However, due to the nature of humans and society, too many people would exploit the system or form harsh dictatorships in which some people are more equal than others. Because of this, I'm a supporter of Capitalism. I would say, however, that certain elements of Communism/Socialism, such as universal healthcare, are most definitely positive and can and should be implemented in Capitalist nations.
In the end it's all about a people's mentality. In Iceland for example they pretty much tossed their government out the airlock after they got sick of being screwed over. So in that type of society maybe it could have a chance. But in most societies that are the complete opposite like the US and most other powerful countries, the political parties hold dominion because people there are a bunch of apathetic morons like myself, except even more stupid in most instances.
If you expect a culture that historically has been ruled by centrist power and has a lot of archaic traditions and so on to become a communist utopia, all you'll get is another Soviet Union. Which ironically the world almost needs at least a metaphorical version of at this point because the US effectively has a monopoly on the world, which in itself isn't very good for international politics.
At this point in the development of the relative economic system of the human race in general, a socialized capitalism is the most conducive to progress.
From my experience the larger the country the harder it is to govern and the more open to corruption and a slide into police states. Communism in its current forms does not work. This is not to say in the future it still will not. But as we are now and as it is now there is no way it could work.
We still have a long way to go until we can reach true communism. The soviet union was the first attempt and it failed. Not only because of its tyrants, but also because of capitalistic influence coming from the west. However, in the past and present as well we have several examples that shows that the human nature is already capable of living properly in a partial-communistic society.
The generations of people who have been brainwashed with anti-soviet-propaganda during the cold war era is still dominant, but it is dying out as time goes on. So it is just a matter of time until people open up their mind to a new social system. The people slowly realize that we need new social and polical structures. I think socialism and its next step to communism is unavoidable, unless we collectively want to continue to kill ourselfs - which is highly unlikely if you ask me.
Not the "capitalism" , neither communism. The collective good before the individual good. Also preserves the nation's culture, preventing today's social/religious problems, like the ones you all know. It is not just a political-economical system, but a individual conduct. The State is there, but it is yours, not like fascism, where the State is all. The State is just a administrative institution that helps people drive their lives, preventing them to destroy it, to ruin it. The State is made from people to people. The money is a trade factor, is a mathematical value to material things, that helps us trade, it is something good, but, also, it is not something that should have all that value.
My dream is to get 999mil, it shouldn't be, my dream should be just to be satisfied in my personal life, such as working with what I like, living in safety, without having do that to the state, or having to pass over the others.

National Socialism, commonly known as Hitler's Germany, probably wasn't the best way to start your point if you were hoping for some positive karma points... :P
...even if what you advocate is the polar opposite.
